Was trying to remember what was your lowest rated figure and thought of a interesting vid idea: A best of 5POA recap. Maybe as a milestone eps BEST/Worst of each category BEST/Worst overall etc etc.
You know what, despite the Luthor armor, I like the colors and overall look. It would be striking on a shelf. I'd get one if I ran into it out in the wild.
I purchased both versions of Brainiac from the page punchers line. I like the standard version of Brainiac as a substitute for Metallo. If they release this figure with a single Metallic grey color, I think that would help with the figures presentation
I saw this guy at my Target and left him there. He is surely “Meh-tallo.” He reminds me of the Black Series holiday figures Hasbro releases. Give him some candy cane kryptonite and a ginger bread house and the money would “Jingle All The Way” into Todd’s pocket.
Same. I guess it all really depends on how he approaches it. If he just plays it like Tony Stark in a Doctor Doom costume that's going to be terrible. New Rockstars did a pretty decent breakdown of the four main ways that they could approach this. I think where I am finding myself landing is that as long as it's limited to the multiverse, and as long as all this Multiverse stuff leads to a new cohesive canon, and as long as that Canon has its own Doctor Doom who is as Comics accurate as the day is long, I'm okay with it. But that's a whole lot of "as long as-es" LOL
I like to thank that lex luthor funded and is supplying most of superman's villains with armor and tech...just a thought as to why they all use the same mold
Great review as always. I really like this figure. I plan on picking up another one to do the custom with the Jay Garrick body. That was my original purpose when I picked up the figure but I like it as is as well. The Elon Musk Superman figure from the Batman 66 line also comes with the same hunk of Kryptonite plus a single shard.
I don’t plan on getting this. It looks cool but not one I’d want. The kryptonite also came with the 60s Adam West Batman line. It was a crossover with Superman in comics. That Superman came with the same kryptonite.

I would’ve preferred to see him in his DCAU, Justice League: Doom, The Batman 2004 and/or Public Enemies version. This versions color scheme and design are just too wacky looking.
The Kryptonite chunk in this is actually reuse. This chunk, and a more “shard” like piece came with the Batman 66 Superman figure. Couldn’t agree with you more by the way. I even like this Metallo costume, but this figure is just startlingly lazy.
I will say it again but not twice that I hoped when you do a toy review of either Batman or Superman plz compare TDKR Superman with Batman Hush and Batman 1st appearance bucks to see if he stacks up well with them that is alright?

This is like the first time I've seen an exclusive and was like "oh yeah I'll find it in store no problem" my targets still have Rivals and even some Batgirls rotting on tge pegs. Also the paint makes it look like he's wearing a hoodie.
My problem with this Luthor buck is that three times I’ve had the arm come off the bicep joint. Once with my Luthor and twice with Atomic Skull. I’d love to get this guy but a huge pass for me.
I mean don’t we all love how we have a modern figure with zero an crunch that looks nothing like the source material WHO MANTS THIS FIGURE EVEN FANS OF METALLO
Besides the lower half on the body everything else looks pretty close to the source material it was taken from so but I rather have a more cyborg look to him than this. Regardless I got him anyway to add to my rogues so he at least has a purpose
That is NOT supposed to be accurate to that New Earth version of Metallo. This armor is based more on Roger Corbin’s armor. Originally John died in his first appearance and Roger appeared years later. In Super Powers’ artwork, which you can see in his Super Friends’ wiki artwork. This is basically a combination of the original Roger Corben Metallo and the pre-Flashpoint version.
Looking at Roger I can see how the red legs and green knee pads come from that, but the chest armor and mask are unmistakably Secret Origin. Def a hybrid of the two.
I guess they wanted a hi-tech looking Metallo...but then why pick that comic look. Most of the Metallos you showed are more cyborg looking, even with a half human/robot face.
This one is a pass for me. Between the space I have the re use and the price, I got to be more selective on my purchases. Maybe on sale just because of the cryptonite.

Found this figure randomly today and picked him up. He’s not the preferred looked but he sticks out on the shelf which is always a good thing.

I like the face sculpt but that's about it. I don't understand why they can't get an abb crunch right. Yeah this one is a hard pass.
