Merci Catherine et Athena pour vos leçons qui semblent épater mes adversaires durant un jeu de pickleball. Vos “drills” sont très efficaces pour l’amélioration. Vous êtes clairs dans vos leçons. Je vous adore!

LMAO, yeah the advice at 1:20 feels terribly incomplete. If you don't move your paddle towards the ball at least a little bit, the ball isn't going to be going over the net most of the time. 2:34 I think this is a good example of what would happen most of the time if you just hold your paddle still. At 2:16 it seems like she's still talking about blocks, but the footage is clearly showing her swinging at the ball 🤣I'd say the hit at 3:05 is closer to how you would actually need to swing at the ball just a little bit to actually block a shot and barely hit it over the net. A small, slow 1-2 inch punch/swing forward is all you would really need to do a basic block against a hard hit. What she's doing at 2:16 I would say is actually less of a basic block and more of a counter, where she is clearly swinging/punching at the ball fairly fast and hard, AND following through with it to get back to a neutral position to be ready to hit the next ball coming at her from either side in a hands battle.
I think this video of hers th-cam.com/video/RUxfG7cpA60/w-d-xo.htmlsi=B3b-TawAvRn_KwqP&t=73 from 6 months ago does a better job at explaining the difference between blocks and counters, and showing good examples of what basic blocks would look like. In the drills at the end, you can clearly see that they are moving their paddle forward slightly towards the ball most of the time when blocking. I feel like that pretty crucial nuance was missed in this video with footage that wasn't really matching what she was talking about, and an insufficient 3 bullet point summary on how to not pop up the ball when blocking. Other than that though, the rest of her advice throughout the video was good.

I think the main point was to use a light grip. The concern to me was that during the drill the ball was so high over the net. But, again, light grip was the goal. CP did a good job at the beginning breaking down the reasons for pop ups. It would have been effective to have a drill for each of those reasons separately, if possible.
