(also Faith No More, Tomahawk, Fantomas…) Ween is great, so is the Butthole Surfers (pardon my french 😅) Magma is a french band I need to listen to more… early Genesis… Gentle Giant of course. The unfinished SMiLE album by the beach boys… (a masterpiece) Major Parkinson and Moron Police are two Cardiacs-adjacent bands worth checking out… early Split Enz, XTC and Sparks… early Wall of Voodoo… Punishment of Luxury for theatrical punk (Laughing Academy is great, and they were a big inspiration for Cardiacs) Last but not least FOETUS (J G Thirlwell) some of the most insane, dark and menacing music I’ve ever heard!

My mom went to India on exchange when she was a teenager in the 90s and met them there, when she returned strangely she found their vinyls in a Thrift store! India is on the other side of the world from where we live, and considering that they are from France, and the vinyls were Vintage, they had nothing to do here!! The vinyls were there ALL my life, and now that I asked my mom about Gong, I started to investigate, and it turns out that I coincidentally have the name of one of the characters, and now I'm the finding headpot pixies EVERYWHERE, in art, on records, on the internet, in books!! And not in itself those of Gong, but the design of them, Strange musicians started following me on my socials, even the clouds look like the flying teapot.

Ha ha seen gong at there peak in a small gig in Liverpool. It was like having them in my living room also had a pocket full of ecstasy tablets and joints drinking jacks and coke .A night beyond my wildest dreams THANK YOU GONG thank you God.
