I agree. This was the best run of the entire event. Mario 64 always brings in so much hype. That's why it's a GDQ staple. If not then it should be.
This was my favorite childhood game. After watching this i'm seriously considering buying an N64 and playing this again

Games Done Quick Yup. The originals were really rough cuts, which is understandable since they were pushed out so qickly.
But these better versions really were needed, for archive purposes. Excellent job.

Am I the only 1 thinking in BBH when botching the 100 coin star. Wouldn't it be faster to do the merry go-around as a backup opposed to going back?
+EISxD It seems like it... but they've still got to go back up for the other star.. might be around the same since they only needed a few coins..
well my argument is altering route, leaving the red coin star. grabbing the merry go around star and then the red coins on a different mission. I know that it would put the coin total way over. the only comparison is weather walking back, and then down to the merry go around next star is slower than a red coin reset.

What is this "Kill the animals" stuff they keep mentioning?

+Henrik Bjørnstad It's for the Super Metroid run-- at nearly the end of the run the player can choose to save some animals they found earlier in the game, but it takes several seconds longer to do so.

Old comment, I know, but it's for Super Metroid. Near the end, there's a section where you find a group of animals, and you can choose to either save them from death or leave them to die. However, saving them takes a few seconds longer than killing them.

In Super Metroid, at the end of the game, you can choose to save some animals from death or just leave them. Leaving them is faster though, so there's a bid war on it.
