this is a cool method - my favourite method for this is using the sloppy shuffle and casually cutting the cards at some point so that all the cards end up facing the same way.
dont know if anyone gives a damn but if you are stoned like me during the covid times you can stream all the new movies on InstaFlixxer. I've been watching with my gf these days =)

MT51! TRIUMPH! I was trying to guess what double backer trick you were going to do but you did this one! Triumph is one of my all time favorites. You did it so well! Loved it! Great job! Come check out my new vid too :)
You need some serious work on your patter. Specifically stop saying what you're going to do and just do it. There's no magic/story/build up/presentation in this. Its like me saying OK I want you to pick a card, OK pick a card, OK now I'll take that card and put it into the deck, you can see its in the deck, but now I'm going to shuffle, and you can see me shuffling, and now your card is on top. Magic is the experience not the sleights. Also spreading face up and leaving one facedown is a lot better than spreading facedown and having one face up.
Definitely can see that in me. I’ll usually just explain due to me not knowing exactly what else to say. For sure not the way I would perform it in real life. But thank you for letting me know I’ll try my best to not explain everything I’m doing and just perform the card trick! Also, when first learned this trick a few years ago it was done facing down with one face up card so I always just stuck with it.
@@magictricks5175 i get it man, its hard if nothing comes naturally but thats why all the big names magicians spend years practicing! I'm not saying make tricks be really campy and obnoxious, like psychic vibrations letting tell what a card is lol, that is odd. I'd suggest just thinking about what it is you want to show with the trick and going from there. For instance this trick is very popular around the theme of having some rude guy in the past try to mess you up by doing the weird shuffle, which justifies the action, and it works because it gives a narrative for the audience to follow and allows you to do things outside of the norm without feeling like you need to justify it. Does that make sense? Something I see a lot of newer magicians do is always feel the need to stick to a certain expectation during a trick and when they veer away from that then justify it. Example you have a card returned to the deck then cut it, and instead of letting your audience be like "ok so its super lost now" instead a newer magicians will feel the need to tell them they're going to do it. Remember the audience doesn't know anything about the trick, you can do literally anything and you don't have to justify it, because again they don't know whats going on anyway. If you start doing stuff like that during performance then during those moments when you need attention directed somewhere else because of a hard sleight, you instantly have the ability to direct it where you need to. And present the end how you want lol its just a performance tip as suspension and building up the excitement makes the trick that much more memorable. But again your trick!
Thank you! Definitely agree with you, I will tone it down on the explanation of everything I do and really focusing more on the story. Maybe not exactly a story for the trick but at least something to go by so it feels more entertaining. And hopefully within the next few months I will improve, thank you again!
