I had nothing to lose, since the tablet was an obsolete hand-me-down, so I gave this a shot. I managed to completely destroy the wiring harness that you disconnected in the video, BUT after carefully reattaching the individual wire connectors to the pins without the plastic shielding and setting it to charge THIS ABSOLUTELY WORKED!! I made a mess of it, but I'm probably only going to use it as a wifi tether, so hopefully I won't get a short from not having the harness to shield the wires from one another. Either way, it's better than throwing it away, which was my plan before trying this tutorial anyway. Thanks!!!
Its start likka no problem at all. Yup, i have the same problem with old Samsung Tab. Every time i charged, the tablet automatically restart n turn off. I changed the charger ribbon, i changed the battery but the tablet still the same. The tablet work normally after i followed the video instructions. Thanks, you're so wonderful.
I watched another video but they didn't touch the metal lines with something metal after you popped off the plug. 🙄 Wondering maybe that's why it didn't work for me? But mine is the "X" on the battery charger when I plug it in this is my problem and I even got a new charger today.. 🤔
I could try this. But currently my Samsung tab 5110 doesn't seem to be taking a charge. It started a couple mornings ago when it was charging overnight, unplugged because it was very warm on the surface. Kinda thinking the battery is gone and that might be my problem.

You might need new battery, battery have it own chip, that could block proper functionality
