So close Andy. It is amazing seeing your running progression over the past year. So many times when I race or so a hard workout I summon my "inner Andy" to get through it. What an experience and I know you will get that sub 16. Also, there were an insane amount of fast runners at that race. So many great runners out there.
Amanzing performance. Yes you really notice that slight incline in Battersea Park when every second counts. Layer in some marathon training and you're good for a 15.xx at Bute Park next month.
Well done Andy. It's mad as a runner 🎉when you get a pb but are still a little disappointed, means you are definitely a runner!!!😂. Got a 10mile pb myself this weekend and was actually happy with it. 67min19.
Well done. I am sure you would be even faster in spring or fall temperatures. Could be your core overheated in that last km, preventing your muscles from responding as earlier...or it could just be fatigue that would have occurred regardless. *shrugs
Nice job Andy, well done on the pb. I've noticed through a number of your race videos a cough that you have, could I suggest you ask your doctor for an asthma inhaler, it will open the lungs for you and get rid of the cough. Looking forward to the rest of the marathon series 👍
Fair play. 3:22 4th Km split surely tells a story, that’s 16:50 pace. Variance too great yet you rallied in the final km (3:17) rather than blowing up so potentially sub 16 was in there…
Amazing run Andy. 👏 so inspiring. At the finish line did you think the guy wanted to pose for a pic but he wanted to collect something he’d left behind you. Cos that would be amazing 😂 If not can we pretend that happened please :)
I really think that you’re missing a trick not having lap pace on. It enables you to focus on the mile/km at hand. I know that this is a 5k but I still do it during a marathon. That way if you have a bad mile you just forget about it as it’s done. You can only control the mile that you’re in.
Possibly, and I dont deny that it could well help... but for me, I really avoid using the watch where I can... so I knew that going into mile 3 I had an average pace showing of 5:07/5:08 that I was on track... soon after that, I blew, and theres nothing that a mile split would of done on screen to help me other than demoralise me... I think its personal preference at the end of the day
Congratulations on the PB! But it was a bit unclear what your race plan was. Sounded like the plan was just to “latch on to fast women” and run under 3:12 per k on average. I propose that that simple plan is setting you up for failure, next time you should turn on auto lap and aim for a controlled start and a strong negative split
WELL DONE! got the pb! There's something genuinely adorable about your dedication to do 8 hours plus on a bus for 16 minutes of running. Kudos!
Cheers buddy! It’s nuts… but fun, the London vibe is well worth it… wish I could run there more, the people are 10/10
@@TheFODRunner PREDICTIVE TEXT ISSUE: admirable NOT adorable.
Congratulations Andy! 🎉 16:05 is a cracking time!

Well done. Incredible time.

Congrats on the PB, Andy. Where are you getting the VF2s from ? Can't find them anywhere..
Thanks! These are my old ones, I haven’t bought any recently sadly

Haha I didn’t realise at first what it was, but it was the timing chip off my shoe 😂
@@TheFODRunner I’ll settle for that. ❤️
Nice, Bro!
Thanks
You were blowing hard after 3km, I knew the 4th km split would look decidedly slower, but a great time nonetheless. 👍
I was…. coming through into the second lap the breathing really changed, held strong until just after 2 miles but it was down hill from there 😂
@@TheFODRunnerthat 2nd km in 3:09 followed by a 3:10 did the damage. Such fine margins but that’s all it takes.
Well done, that's the sort of breathing we want to hear at the end, and not immediately having a chat afterwards!
Haha thanks 😂

Thanks! Yes I’ll start calmer next time and work into it for sure 👊
The 3rd mile is always the toughest part. For my 22:12 PR in April, my mile paces were 6:48, 7:13, 7:25, and then 6:27 for the last little bit.
Definitely! Well done on your 5k PR 👊
booom!
💥
I kind of like the fact you do not actually like your lucky shoes ... it's all you kid. 😉
They keep delivering the good 🤷♂️ 😂
Just chase the girl in the underwear and you always do great!
😂
Definitely looked like someone forgot their shorts there!
Congratulations! You started too fast my friend, you can lower another 15-20 sec easily...
Thanks! I’ll definitely be trying to start slower on the next one!
Why didn't you just go 6 sec faster?🤔 🤣🤣🤣 If that was gun time...then was probably 3 sec quicker for chip (actual!) 🦾🏃👊💚🤍
Haha! Gun was 16:08, chip was 16:05... so they did obviously use chips... not sure why they mentioned they would go by gun time!
