With all due respect, Karen Clark Sheard has collaborated with people that she absolutely should not have. She let Missy Elliot produce 2 of her albums, one of which Dorinda, Kim Burrell, and Yolanda Adams sang a song written by Missy Elliot (Higher Ground). Missy Elliot at the time was one of the most foul artists in the secular industry. She allowed Kelly Price and another secular artist duet with her on her first solo album. She did a song on her second solo album by Jill Scott with her daughter, Kiki. She got on stage with Escape, who sang "Is My Living In Vein" and yes, their living is because they are not living for Christ. She stood in agreement with Snoop Dog's "Christian Album" fiasco and she defends and gave accolades to beyonce and jay z. Nobody deals with all of these things. Why not? She has great influence in the Church because of her voice, but she has blatantly disobeyed Scripture in these collaborations and partnerships. The Bible says that we are to have nothing to do with the unfruitful works of darkness. If we are going to clean up in the Church, we have to do a thorough cleaning and not be biased. God is not pleased with her actions and He is not pleased with us who choose to ignore this wrong doing. She needs to be rebuked, especially because of her position because The Bible makes it clear that those in leadership are held at a higher accountability. I don't mean no disrespect, but the truth is the truth. This all goes for Dorinda, also. She is in a high position while doing these ungodly things and she gets nameless rebukes. This is just my opinion. When this was bought to the Bishops attention and disciplinary measures were being taken to hold this pastor accountable that should be reported to the news as public information. The same way the scandal was reported to the news. If there was a cease and desist letter written the congregation of that church has a right to know this. Especially, if the pastor is operating illegally. Call it out … that’s the problem here…this is what the influencer is saying …. If the church doesn’t condone this type of behavior and they took action that information should have been communicated by the lead bishop and reported back to the news. Hence, everyone would have saw it was addressed and it would send a clear message to other pastors operating under COGIC that this is not acceptable. The LEAD Bishop still has not spoken this guy is speaking on his behalf and that shows his leadership… Weird to me .. but I don’t follow any of these pastors.

From the onset, I will say that I have listened to a reasonable amount of Bishop Wooden's commentary on a few matters. Some of it I agreed with while some other positions I did not embrace. What can you say? People agree and disagree. That is part of life and living. Second, this is by far the best response I have ever seen a public figure give regarding a controversial incident in which they were, in some capacity, being held accountable. Bishop Wooden was tactful, direct and spoke in plain language that any viewer can understand. Not one time did he quote the scripture. He didn't have to because the situation didn't call for it. This is a textbook example that other people should follow. Third, I appreciate how he handled this situation. He did not act like a loose cannon. He dialoged with the head of the COGIC about this matter and obtained his full blessing to address this matter. This is what you call being decent and in order. Fourth, I earnestly do believe that Bishop Wooden and the denominational leadership at the highest level were unaware or what was happening at this church in Las Vegas. Like any other large organization, it is very difficult to know everything that goes on. But this does not totally exonerate COGIC. It is an ecclesiastical body that has a fully developed hierarchy that includes district superintendents and bishops. So it is legitimate to question why the national body was not aware of this situation playing out. They should examine what happened, learn from it, and then go back and adjust their policies so these matters can be expeditiously dealt with. Last, I know many people in the body of Christ do not like a lot of the social influencer's commentary on a vast array of subject matters regarding the [black] church. Frankly speaking, I like the social influencer because he raises a lot of questions that religious institutions have swept under the rug for generations. A prime example is how the Catholic Church's priests have sexually exploited a whole lot of people. Members of the black church oftentimes look at the Catholic church with disgust. The reality is the same kind of exploitation is going on in the black church. Oftentimes we play it off like it's not there. This is just one of many subject matters the social influencer has dealt with concerning the black church. We may not like what he's saying. But I hope that the young man is not held in disdain because he does raise some legitimate questions that the black church should not ignore.
My personal belief of why the influencer mentioned your name and others is to get someone to speak out against such inappropriate behaviors. I often wonder why our spiritual leaders remain quiet as so much inappropriate behaviors increases in our communities . At the same time you have the LGBTQ protesters and making noise and changes for their beliefs . As I do my research, my goes off to leaders (Dr. Martin L. King, Malcolm X, etc…….) who were literally out in the streets attempting to make positive changes. Where are leaders in 2024?

I just saw the commentary of that social media influencer on yesterday. It made make so sad to hear and especially on that platform. 😢Thank you Bishop Wooden for addressing this issue in an intelligent and godly manner. The Jurisdiction that he serves under need to be aware if he is still functioning as a pastor, when he should have been taken down immediately until after court has cleared or convicted him. If these allegations are found to be true then #1 repentance to everyone involved; The Lord & Church should be the 1st order of the day. Awareness and transparency is a must in our church. The influencer just wants the issue to be publicly addressed to show that your church organization does not condone such behaviour. I don’t think his video was an attack on the COGIC just a challenge to speak out about it publicly. Very gracious to address it to reassure everyone that this persons behaviour is not condoned.

It was definitely an attack on the COGIC. It’s one thing to call out Bobby Smith, which is rightfully so, but to group all COGIC ministers is just WRONG, and I am a Baptist! And I definitely DO NOT consider him a so-called influencer.

As a law student and member of COGIC born & raised I am scratching my head trying to understand why this Bishop would speak so strongly on a pending case? I understand wanting to defend his name against possible defamatory behavior but he should not have provided this type of commentary on a pending legal matter. If the allegations are found to be unfounded and or false, will he and Bishop Sheard apologize? Not a good look. IMHO this Bishop is totally out of bounds for speaking on the case. The Bishop is the leader of this organization. The leader has a responsibility. The bishop doesn’t have to get in the details of a pending court case to address the fact they are aware of this situation and these allegations are under investigation. Clearly they are investigating and holding the pastor accountable if they sent a cease and desist letter. The Leader should have spoke up…period…this wouldn’t even be a conversation if that happened originally..

It’s clear that ALL of the people that have responded saying that Bishop Wooden has not or chooses not to speak against foolishness that may go on within the COGIC or the body of Christ, as a whole, have NOT followed Bishop Wooden’s ministries. He’s been calling out sin (within the church and without) since the 80’s…. It’s just that social media is JUST now catching up with mass broadcasting and that very quickly! Unfortunately, things are going to get worse. There used to be a distinctive difference with the holiness church and everyone else (and I'm not just talking about dress). But the line has been blurred and therefore the annointing has been less evident. Matt. 24:22-24 let's us know that things are going to get worse but for the very elect sake Christ will hasten his return and take the saved out of here less no one end up saved.

Grew up in the Church of God in Christ all my life. I don't know if this is supposed to be Bishop Drew Shears PR man but they're doing a horrible job. The Church of God in Christ has a whole lot of repenting they need to do and his best bet would have been not to put his little boy on here to talk for him. While I do appreciate the discretion of this video especially in a time where people seem to be more attracted to expose videos than they are about sound doctrine, I have to say this was highly disappointing. Not because the name of the exposer wasn’t dropped. But because of the sin of partiality that was put on display in this video. I actually like Pastor Wooden and have been very appreciative of his stance on other issues. But this was clearly Cogic idolatry. This is exactly why attendance is low in the church today. It’s a shame that those who are to be shepherded has a higher standard than it’s leadership that’s suppose to shepherd them. Pastor Wooden has to reevaluate himself for this double standard stance and this bias sin due to his idolatry for the churches of God in Christ. Because this is clearly the sin of partiality. And even James the apostle called partiality a sin. Paul echoes the same thing in these verses below. “Listen to no accusation [presented before a judge] against an elder unless it is confirmed by the testimony of two or three witnesses. [Deut. 19:15.] As for those who are guilty and persist in sin, rebuke and admonish them in the presence of all, so that the rest may be warned and stand in wholesome awe and fear. I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus and of the chosen angels that you guard and keep [these rules] without personal prejudice or favor, doing nothing from partiality. Do not be in a hurry in the laying on of hands [giving the sanction of the church too hastily in reinstating expelled offenders or in ordination in questionable cases], nor share or participate in another man's sins; keep yourself pure.”~1 Timothy 5:19-22 AMPC To sum it up Paul delegated apostolic authority to Timothy while giving him instructions on how to deal with pastors who openly sin. Timothy wasn’t a pastor. He was an apostle. Clearly not one of the 12 but an apostle from the church. So when you read this passage you have to read it this way: “Those elders (bishop, pastor, presbyter, overseer, all the same word) who sin rebuke them in front of the whole assembly so other pastors may fear.” People fail to realize there was a plurality of leadership (equal in authority) in the early church so it’s hard to understand verses like this today. To sum it up this why I said this was a partial stance and I’m hopeful that pastors like Wooden would correct this error. Because the truth is there are more rooting for bold men than it may appear. With all due respect, Karen Clark Sheard has collaborated with people that she absolutely should not have. She let Missy Elliot produce 2 of her albums, one of which Dorinda, Kim Burrell, and Yolanda Adams sang a song written by Missy Elliot (Higher Ground). Missy Elliot at the time was one of the most foul artists in the secular industry. She allowed Kelly Price and another secular artist duet with her on her first solo album. She did a song on her second solo album by Jill Scott with her daughter, Kiki. She got on stage with Escape, who sang "Is My Living In Vein" and yes, their living is because they are not living for Christ. She stood in agreement with Snoop Dog's "Christian Album" fiasco and she defends and gave accolades to beyonce and jay z. Nobody deals with all of these things. Why not? She has great influence in the Church because of her voice, but she has blatantly disobeyed Scripture in these collaborations and partnerships. The Bible says that we are to have nothing to do with the unfruitful works of darkness. If we are going to clean up in the Church, we have to do a thorough cleaning and not be biased. God is not pleased with her actions and He is not pleased with us who choose to ignore this wrong doing. She needs to be rebuked, especially because of her position because The Bible makes it clear that those in leadership are held at a higher accountability. I don't mean no disrespect, but the truth is the truth. This all goes for Dorinda, also. She is in a high position while doing these ungodly things and she gets nameless rebukes. This is just my opinion. When this was bought to the Bishops attention and disciplinary measures were being taken to hold this pastor accountable that should be reported to the news as public information. The same way the scandal was reported to the news. If there was a cease and desist letter written the congregation of that church has a right to know this. Especially, if the pastor is operating illegally. Call it out … that’s the problem here…this is what the influencer is saying …. If the church doesn’t condone this type of behavior and they took action that information should have been communicated by the lead bishop and reported back to the news. Hence, everyone would have saw it was addressed and it would send a clear message to other pastors operating under COGIC that this is not acceptable. The LEAD Bishop still has not spoken this guy is speaking on his behalf and that shows his leadership… Weird to me .. but I don’t follow any of these pastors.

From the onset, I will say that I have listened to a reasonable amount of Bishop Wooden's commentary on a few matters. Some of it I agreed with while some other positions I did not embrace. What can you say? People agree and disagree. That is part of life and living.
Second, this is by far the best response I have ever seen a public figure give regarding a controversial incident in which they were, in some capacity, being held accountable. Bishop Wooden was tactful, direct and spoke in plain language that any viewer can understand. Not one time did he quote the scripture. He didn't have to because the situation didn't call for it. This is a textbook example that other people should follow.
Third, I appreciate how he handled this situation. He did not act like a loose cannon. He dialoged with the head of the COGIC about this matter and obtained his full blessing to address this matter. This is what you call being decent and in order.
Fourth, I earnestly do believe that Bishop Wooden and the denominational leadership at the highest level were unaware or what was happening at this church in Las Vegas. Like any other large organization, it is very difficult to know everything that goes on. But this does not totally exonerate COGIC. It is an ecclesiastical body that has a fully developed hierarchy that includes district superintendents and bishops. So it is legitimate to question why the national body was not aware of this situation playing out. They should examine what happened, learn from it, and then go back and adjust their policies so these matters can be expeditiously dealt with.
Last, I know many people in the body of Christ do not like a lot of the social influencer's commentary on a vast array of subject matters regarding the [black] church. Frankly speaking, I like the social influencer because he raises a lot of questions that religious institutions have swept under the rug for generations. A prime example is how the Catholic Church's priests have sexually exploited a whole lot of people. Members of the black church oftentimes look at the Catholic church with disgust. The reality is the same kind of exploitation is going on in the black church. Oftentimes we play it off like it's not there. This is just one of many subject matters the social influencer has dealt with concerning the black church. We may not like what he's saying. But I hope that the young man is not held in disdain because he does raise some legitimate questions that the black church should not ignore.
If there is any disdain for this influencer, it is probably most certainly due to his blatant support of homosexuality.

It made make so sad to hear and especially on that platform. 😢Thank you Bishop Wooden for addressing this issue in an intelligent and godly manner. The Jurisdiction that he serves under need to be aware if he is still functioning as a pastor, when he should have been taken down immediately until after court has cleared or convicted him. If these allegations are found to be true then #1 repentance to everyone involved; The Lord & Church should be the 1st order of the day. Awareness and transparency is a must in our church. As a law student and member of COGIC born & raised I am scratching my head trying to understand why this Bishop would speak so strongly on a pending case? I understand wanting to defend his name against possible defamatory behavior but he should not have provided this type of commentary on a pending legal matter. The Bishop is the leader of this organization. The leader has a responsibility. The bishop doesn’t have to get in the details of a pending court case to address the fact they are aware of this situation and these allegations are under investigation. It’s clear that ALL of the people that have responded saying that Bishop Wooden has not or chooses not to speak against foolishness that may go on within the COGIC or the body of Christ, as a whole, have NOT followed Bishop Wooden’s ministries.
He’s been calling out sin (within the church and without) since the 80’s….
It’s just that social media is JUST now catching up with mass broadcasting and that very quickly!
I encourage each person that has spoken prematurely about Bishop Wooden as if he doesn’t call out sin in the church, as well, to go back and listen to his sermons over the years up to now… if you have the time and the will to listen to the Word of God…😶🙏🏾

Unfortunately, things are going to get worse. There used to be a distinctive difference with the holiness church and everyone else (and I'm not just talking about dress). But the line has been blurred and therefore the annointing has been less evident. Matt. 24:22-24 let's us know that things are going to get worse but for the very elect sake Christ will hasten his return and take the saved out of here less no one end up saved.
The COGIC need to acknowledge the baptism in the name of Jesus Christ is right. And then practice it.

I think Bishop Wooden gave a great response about this matter!, This guy that said something about Bishop Wooden about not responding to this matter sould not be so fast to say things about Bishop Wooden or the Presiding Bishop of COGIC in terms of responding, Like Bishop Wooden said- he didn't know at first about this situation, I think Bishop Wooden is a good man!, I think this Pastor should get his license revoked and lose his opportunity to preach and Pastor a church in my opinion because this is ridiculous, and this is why is so difficult to get people in Church today because of foolishness going on in the house of God!

Grew up in the Church of God in Christ all my life. I don't know if this is supposed to be Bishop Drew Shears PR man but they're doing a horrible job. The Church of God in Christ has a whole lot of repenting they need to do and his best bet would have been not to put his little boy on here to talk for him. And him being a bishop he should be a man and came on and talk for his self and apologize to the body of Christ and repented for the sins of the Church of God in Christ have been committing to the people of God. And you can't justify Francis Kelly that woman has killed more people verbally than a murder has killed with a gun. So if you can't correct your leaders how can you expect your followers to be correct. Church of God in Christ is literally becoming just as bad as the Catholic Church are worse What a shame

Bro, the black leaders pick and choose what they want to speak on, Karen is so far gone and always singing with worldly folks but that's ok with them. People think they are so holy you can't say anything against them. God said he will start with the Churches first when judgements being.
Now I'm going to research what this is all about, I joined the Presbyterian church having left the Black pentecostal church sick of the mess. At First Presbyterian the teaching is foundational and Bible based and they stress that Christians be filled with the Holy Spirit in order to live the Christian life.
It's alot of this evil happening in all the churches. And you have alot of folks protecting these preachers and churches that allows this bs to happen

While I do appreciate the discretion of this video especially in a time where people seem to be more attracted to expose videos than they are about sound doctrine, I have to say this was highly disappointing.
Not because the name of the exposer wasn’t dropped. But because of the sin of partiality that was put on display in this video.
I actually like Pastor Wooden and have been very appreciative of his stance on other issues.
But this was clearly Cogic idolatry. This is exactly why attendance is low in the church today.
It’s a shame that those who are to be shepherded has a higher standard than it’s leadership that’s suppose to shepherd them.
Pastor Wooden has to reevaluate himself for this double standard stance and this bias sin due to his idolatry for the churches of God in Christ. Because this is clearly the sin of partiality. And even James the apostle called partiality a sin. Paul echoes the same thing in these verses below.
“Listen to no accusation [presented before a judge] against an elder unless it is confirmed by the testimony of two or three witnesses. [Deut. 19:15.] As for those who are guilty and persist in sin, rebuke and admonish them in the presence of all, so that the rest may be warned and stand in wholesome awe and fear. I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus and of the chosen angels that you guard and keep [these rules] without personal prejudice or favor, doing nothing from partiality. Do not be in a hurry in the laying on of hands [giving the sanction of the church too hastily in reinstating expelled offenders or in ordination in questionable cases], nor share or participate in another man's sins; keep yourself pure.”~1 Timothy 5:19-22 AMPC
To sum it up Paul delegated apostolic authority to Timothy while giving him instructions on how to deal with pastors who openly sin.
Timothy wasn’t a pastor. He was an apostle. Clearly not one of the 12 but an apostle from the church.
So when you read this passage you have to read it this way:
“Those elders (bishop, pastor, presbyter, overseer, all the same word) who sin rebuke them in front of the whole assembly so other pastors may fear.”
People fail to realize there was a plurality of leadership (equal in authority) in the early church so it’s hard to understand verses like this today.
To sum it up this why I said this was a partial stance and I’m hopeful that pastors like Wooden would correct this error.
Because the truth is there are more rooting for bold men than it may appear. We need your courage but we have to be fair across the board and unbiased. Pause

Amen, Bishop Wooden, Sr. The world must realize anyone can get a license to become a Pastor. However, these immoral living Pastor's are own their private time and not the COGIC's time when fulling the lusts of the flesh. This is an individual lifestyle, not the churches, and it can't be swept under the rug and he should receive judgment according to the law of the land.

Bishop Wooden, I have a question. You consistently talk about everything else over the pulpit that is controversial. Why don’t you ever discuss the rampant child molestation, pedophiles and other immorality happening in churches? That is what we need to focus on but the church covers it up instead of exposing it up or focusing on Church girls etc.
