  • Can stronger Africa China cooperation truly empower the Global South?
The 9th Forum on China Africa Cooperation has kicked off with a focus on modernization. But questions persist over the balance of power between Beijing and the 53 African states in attendance. Will increasing business and trade trickle down to African populations, or, increase inequality?

The White Skin colonised Africa, not China. In fact, China was a victim of Western Colonialism. British took Hong Kong, Portugal took Macao.
After WW2, China was even poorer than some African countries.
China is not responsible for bad things happened historically in Africa, nor responsible for current situation in Africa too.
This UK black analyst asking why China is helping the hungery people in Nigeria?
Maybe he should ask why Nigeria as a sovereign state is not helping its own people? Was that China‘s fault now? How stupid.

Mostly African countries gain independence during 1960~1980, thats average 50 yeas ago.
During 1960~1980, China was so poor and majority of population was under poverty line. China can not help anyone, because they were extremely poor.
African countries borrow money from World Bank and IMF, and once they failed to keep up with payment, the loan roll over with higher interest rates. This practice has been run over 50~60 years, thats how Western World keep Africa poor.
China‘s BRI project is only 10 years old, and only consist of 12~15% of total African debt.
If anyone wants to blame for "Debt Trap", its a Debt Trap from Western world.

They can not force any country to build an airport in their city, if local government doesn‘t want to, isn‘t it?
China is not acting like a saint doing free charity, its not their responsibity. China is a reliable business partner, and thats all Africa needs. Much better than Colonial Thieves.

Hence African manufacturing and producuction needs to vastly impove in standards and quality to compete on the global market. This Adetunji guy is just talking nonsense. China builds infrastructures in Africa, whatever happens to the debt those infrastructures are already established in Africa and they cannot be taken out. Lastly China does not give cash loans, the funds are paid directly to Chinese construction companies to build those infrastructures, so there is no way for anyone to pocket any cash.

There were hundreds of thousand members of the Chinese Communist Party going out to every village in China and activly coaching those communities to develope there revenue streams. Developing sustainable and best practices and linking it it up to planes traines and automobiles on the internets super highway.
Thats the miracle they did ,it was about caring , then doing...
They also built communities from scratch and relocated villages to a new reality. All on a mathmatical model that brought the informal to the formal.
Its just a huge list of achievement...and i believe it chain reacted. Catalyzed.

❤❤️❤️✌️✌️✌️❤️❤️❤️✌️✌️✌️What is the total debt of Africa?
The Bank Group estimates that Africa's total external debt, which stood at $1.12 trillion in 2022, had risen to $1.152 trillion by end-2023.15 May 2024
How much loan China gave to Africa?
China has vaulted to the top bilateral lender for many African nations like Ethiopia in recent years. It has lent the continent a total of $182.28 billion between 2000-2023, the Boston University study found, with the bulk of the finances going to Africa's energy, transport and ICT sectors.29 Aug 2024
Since 2000 China has only lend 180 billions dollars 💵 to Africa countries.
1.152 trillions (1,152,000,000,000 dollars) compared to China total loan to Africa countries since year 2000 which is only (180,000,000,000 dollars).
Which is China loan to Africa countries make up 15% only.
So, Africa countries debts to World Bank , IMF and others make up 85%.
So, how China create a debt trap with just 15% .

But then again our economy is mediocre at this point each African country can speak with China on equal ground but still I hate this +50 leaders going to one place,
Well China cannot be blamed for starving people in Nigeria or any other country, if anything a government needs to make sure that there’s adequate supplies of food in any given fiscal year
And it should be governments that should try and develop the state of manufacturing so that we can go to China or USA and say we want to enter your market, we need to sell processed oil, processed iron ore, processed coal,
Like Lithium and cobalt are increasingly becoming new gold so let learn what they want to do with our lithium, if it battery let build battery manufacturing plants
We can’t be blaming others for our shortcomings

China , Russia and Africa. This is the way Africa must go for the next 100 Years.
The Chain of Production must not only be in Agriculture, but must also include Trade in manufactured Goods.
Africa must learn to borrow and pay back her Debts promptly to encourage her beneficiaries.
Investments are meant to create wealth otherwise the relationship will never be sustainable. This means Active Performance in all Fields.
This is why Africa must unite with a solid Defence Pact, dedicated Leaders, and good governance.
The West did the contrary as we all know, and I think it is too late to talk about this.
The wound exerted on Africa is too deep; nonetheless, remorse and honest engagements may be considered.
    Africa must unite Now.

Let assume your family is growing and wish to buy a bigger & more comfortable house but you have no money to commit.
Next you think of borrowing from the Bank & the interest is 10%pa OR higher. You have the option to put aside your dream.
If you commit to the deal, this is WIN-WIN Model. You own a bigger house BUT at the expense of 10%pa Interest OR higher. Simple as that
Would the bank give you money for FREE?
Africa Continent needs development & the governments are doing every bit to improve the livelihood of their citizens.
So, they have to work with China who has money & willing to help and cooperate.
There is no element of so-called 'Exploitation'

Military bases like those near Niger protecting Uraniums reserves from the very citizens there who rebel against the terrible conditions that has left them poor and poisoned by opened uranium pits for generations to come while the resources go to France for 1/3 of it's total energy supply. This resource should make the country rich if it weren't for the military presence of the US abetting exploitation. This is a common theme throughout the continent.
