  • Although men are subject to discrimination too (in jobs regarding education for example), however, women are held down from achieving their full potential in various ways. Under the broad category of gender discrimination (at the workplace), the issue of gender wage gap is discussed and examined in this video.

You should watch it the other way round,
Men can't say that they are having periods and take leave, nor they can take maternity leave, but women can.
Now think that you're owning a company, why will you pay more to an employ who can take leave anytime rather than the employ who can't use those type of excuses.
Moreover, the one who has more talent should get the job not according to an individuals gender.
You shouldn't promote more men nor more women.
Coz gender discrimination is also faced by men.
So start looking things with different angles.

Enchantix Harmonix I think you need to get you head out of your ass and look at the facts about wage gap and inequality in the work place. Even when a man and a woman have the same qualifications the man is picked over the woman and not only that but they are also paid more for the same position. It's not because he's more hardworking or has more experience it's because of his gender. And in response to your idiotic comment about women getting leave from work because we have an "excuse" I'll let you know that no company offers leave for women when they are on their period even though it can be extremely painful for some women especially those with medical conditions that cause them to bleed excessively and have an unimaginable amount of pain. We rarely get just about a month for maternity leave and that's only a few countries.
So if you've finally unattached your head from your rear then take your time to do your research before you leave stupid and unnecessary comments.
P.S. I hope you never go up to a woman in real life and say all this because you're gonna get your ass beat real hard if you do.

Enchantix Harmonix Those are all valid points. I can see why you would feel that way. I mean even the person who posted this video wrote something in the description about how men also face gender discrimination in the workplace, so I'm aure sure a lot of people sympathise with you.
However, it's far cry to call things such as maternity leave an advantage. In fact, I barely hear about women taking leaves for their periods. Your generalisation paints women as lazy individuals, which is unfair. If men went through menstrual pains and pregnancy then they will definitely get breaks. Think about it this way: you put band-aids on wounds right? Without band-aids, it will be much harder for your wound to heal. You also never tend to put band-aids on random patches of your skin right?
You also imply that women should be employed less because of these breaks, or at the very least compensated less. How often do you think a woman gets pregnant? Again, I don't think anyone has taken a leave for menstrual pain, and if they did then it means that the pain is just that severe. These leaves are quite rare. In fact that's almost as vague as saying that every employee should be paid less because they can get injured and take a hospital leave at any time. I understand your concerns, but not every woman gets pregnant. Not every woman menstruates.
Regarding talent, I think that should be neutral. The video itself says that there are 30% more women with college education and that 6 out of 10 Bachelor's degrees are women's. Yet the market still leans towards men. Statistics say that women would be a better investment than men. But talent doesn't choose a gender. Regardless of gender and education, a qualified person should still be paid accordingly, and this is the point that the video is trying to make. It's not saying that women are more qualified than men, it's saying that they are JUST as qualified.
Why would this video promote men if they're already profiting from it?
Why do you forget about the numerous single mothers that were forced into this lifestyle? Why do you imply that women are better off leeching off men? That's rather unfair.
Speaking about male discrimination, why don't you talk about how 21% of sexual assault victims in the workplace are male and are not taken seriously at all? Why not talk about how toxic masculinity is rampant in the office atmosphere and how it affects the mental well being of many individuals? Why talk about gender discrimination but make it seem as if only men should shoulder all the work as if they were born to do so? There are a hundred other issues that you could have brought up, and maybe some of your points were just lost in translation when you decided that the only way to bring light to some of these matters was to bring down women instead of empowering men in the right way.

Why I mean is that, everyone should get paid on the basis of the service they provide. Moreover, I have questioned many women who have graduated from IT field, about HTML, but they were unaware themselves. Moreover there was a girl in my class who used to get 100 on 100 in very subject, but when I asked her some questions...... Her brain blasted (She wasn't able to answer even a single question). But there was a guy on the other hand who scored 92 on 100 I asked him the same questions and he was able to give 7 answers correct from 10. That's my personal experience. Even, take my example I was just 58 on 100 but, I wrote thesis when I was 15. U should you should switch sides just as I did.
