Nice video Peter. On a visit with Patrick Hadley he mentioned he knew you. I told Pat I had seen lessons from years back and found your laugh and style engaging. I also had a chance to play on his handpans one of which was stainless and sounded similar to the one used on this video. Great sound especially the ding tone. Looking forward to more of these.

That particular one is a stainless steel Axiom Apex model F# Hijaz. It is a prototype of that style. I’ll have some new ones to share soon also :)

I am finally getting back into being able to play kit and even though it could potentially double the amount of time it's going to take for me to learn how to accompany people in different styles I am learning how to keep time using both hands. Good for you for encouraging people to lead with both hands!
Dug the video. Very clear teaching and building-up of concepts throughout. Was it a challenge getting the pan and voice to balance well? The sound balance is very good.
Also, would love to see a future video about how you approach metronome practice :]

Yes! I wish when I first started I knew to work both hands. It is especially relevant for handpan. Plus as a left hander I never particularly appreciated the suggestion to "just flip it around and figure it out" LOL. Love to the leftys

@@Handpan360 Cool, I have never used a shotgun mic before. I have seen great music TH-camrs like Brandon Acker appear to use a single mic off-camera for talkback and playing guitar. It works well for him and I think that it's working well for you. I usually see people using lapel mics in spaces that have really extreme reverb or outdoors.
