Hi Smitha! My eyelid hoods are very similar to yours in shape. I do a version of a puppy wing that is slightly different. Not sure I can describe it with words, although it's not complicated visually. What I realized recently was I can draw a line-based UPward tilting wing like others do... it's just that the part of the liner wing that extends beyond the outer corner of the eye should only go as far as the mobile lid that is not hood covered. So it's a true "wing," but it's about a third as long as the wing of an unhooded eye. I like your term "puppy wing." I think what I'm describing is a slightly different version of a puppy wing? Thank you so much for all of your beautiful content about hooded eye looks. All the very best to you! 🦋🧡🦋
Wait… someone doing a hooded eye tutorial who actually has hooded eyes?!?!? It drives me to distraction the number of makeup artists who claim to have hooded eyes but don’t. Thank you for a wonderful, helpful, beautiful, and legitimate tutorial!
@@geminirule74 I have a lot of eye space but I still have to do my eyeliner as if I have hooded eyes just because of the way my skin folds around the outer crease/corner of my eye.

@@scarletwidows Well, I was about 17 in 1958 when started to use make up. the only thing is that we did not have liquid eyeliner then, we use black carbon pencil, and lots of mascara that came in a paste that one had to wet before using it with a very tiny brush. We did not use eye shado either, that came later, about 1962 0r so. Cheers, and Merry Christmas

Just a tip, puppy liner looks best with brown eyeliner. Black eyeliner will make your eyes short and intense. While brown will make you look more intense and a bit more elongated
I have deep set hooded eyes and I gave up winged eye liner about a year ago and started wearing puppy liner... it made all the difference... my eyes look huge now. I use a dark brown shadow that I stamp on with an angled brush on the top lid too instead of a liquid eyeliner for a softer look. Thanks for this tutorial.
That's a nice idea for a more subtle alternative - I'm naturally blonde with fair skin and the harshness of black liquid liner can be intense sometimes, so thank you!
I find eyeshadow liner on my upper lash line disappears before I even reach for my setting spray. And liquid or pencil liner ends up covered in eyeshadow as soon as I blink. So frustrating.
@@lunamcnally2062 Have you tried using either a primer or concealer on your lids before applying the eyeshadow? That should make it have more staying power.

Ive worn my liner like this for 20 years I had no idea it had such a cute name 😊 I have hooded eyes so I’m pleased to know I’ve been applying it correctly 😁 tfs.xx
First of all, it's so amazing that she shows us these techniques specifially for hooded eyes! And secondly, I love that she doesn't necessarily use fake lashes because I never do that and I often feel like make up looks from other tutorials always only look good when you put them on
I have always used this technique for my hooded eyes because it kind of made my eyes look bigger and brighter and at the same time looked very pretty and I never knew it had a name! 😁
I love puppy eyeliner. I already have prominent, round eyes, but towards my outer corner, I do have a fold, simply because my eyebrows are naturally close to my eyes and my outer corner is downturned, so if I look straight ahead, they can look a little hooded. I did this a lot when I just couldn't do cat eyeliner (although I have finally figured out how to do it) and I know why it's so popular, it's very cute and youthful! My mother has hooded eyes and struggled all the time with cat eyeliner, so when she got convinced and did puppy eyeliner one day, it looked really cute and it made her happy. I hope lots more people try it!
This is my favourite eyeliner from 2 years, but I do it little bit different. I use black eyeliner and brown eyeshadow like for my eyebrows for more softer look and I pair this cute eyeliner with different eyeshadow colors, but I still keep the brown on the lower lash line. Thank you for making that tutorial. I watch your channel from almost and year and I really love your videos. ❤️
I've always had hooded eyes but the past year I've noticed a significant change in how hooded they were. They're so hooded I'm not able to apply makeup the way I used to. I so appreciate your time and consideration and you look elegant and super pretty! Thanks so so much ❣️
I love the puppy eyeliner, and I still wear that style even though the winged eyeliner is popular. That eyeliner style was popular in the 90s, and for my eyes (they’re naturally round), that style suited me better than the winged eyeliner.
Had no idea this was called puppy liner 😄 So cute. I dont really have hooded eyes but I do use this liner technique all the time. Its pretty great on most eye shapes ♡

What a great technique! What are your thoughts on doing this technique and then doing a wing from the "new" end point of the liner? Please consider doing a video on that...i feel like it would work, because maybe it would allow us to create a wing that is past the hood, rather than trying to navigate the fold.

So cute, so simple! Over the years I have noticed how really simple eye looks makes my eyes pop! Thanks for the video, trying it asap!
What a great technique! What are your thoughts on doing this technique and then doing a wing from the "new" end point of the liner? Please consider doing a video on that...i feel like it would work, because maybe it would allow us to create a wing that is past the hood, rather than trying to navigate the fold.
Victoria, what a great idea. I've demonstrated similar here: th-cam.com/video/wwKv0UM6IwQ/w-d-xo.html but I will do a tutorial exclusively on it xox
*says out loud while watching video* “this woman just changed my life” - this is great!
Thank you for helping us hooded eyes gals look beautiful!! Love this puppy eyeliner look!!!! 😊👍💖
Your tutorials are so user friendly! It's frustrating to watch other ppl give a tutorial for hooded eyes but they don't have hooded eyes lol. Thanks for the great tips
So beautiful!! @smithadeepak, how do you prevent your liner under the eyes from smudging during the day!? It’s such a problem for me. Thank you for your tutorials!! 💚
Major problem for me too!! I have tried EVERYTHING: high end & low end liners, primers, setting liner etc.
Hope this comments gets many more likes so she sees it and responds to us oily lid gals!
She’s using eyeshadow on the under line part, not eyeliner. Eyeshadow usually lasts a little longer, but idk for sure :(
Have you tried gel eyeliner?
Either use eyeshadow like she's using here, or use waterproof liner 😊
I have hooded eyes. I gave up on the cateye eyeliner. But watching 2 vids of you today, I will try to pick it up again. Practice practice practice🤭🤭🤣🤣 Thnk U
I love this look!!! ❤️ After watching this I tried the technique myself. It was so easy and really a pretty look!! Thank you so much for this!!

I love your hooded eyes tutorials! I don’t wear makeup often but when I do I look at your videos. Love that you’re not so heavy on makeup like others with so many layers upon layers, uff! I feel like my skin can’t breathe! And too drastic look as well feels more like Halloween makeup than everyday normal makeup. Appreciate you!

Gorgeous! That’s the eyeliner shape I go for and I’m 46. I’ve been using that mascara forever ! I’ve tried so many others, expensive ones, and keep coming back. Thanks for your brilliant artistic tips! Especially stamping the liquid liner. I’ve never been able to get that right ! Always used a tapered brush with pressed powder for my liner 👏🏻💕 I would love to get better with makeup and love your videos! So professional!
I absolutely love this method! I feel like this is an easy every day look I can use. I've been wanting to up my game on eyeliner but I'm not about to attempt the winged eyeliner effect. This is a GREAT alternative!!! Thank you so much for your easy, get to the point tutorial videos!!!!!!! 🥰
I left a comment a couple videos back asking for you to please do a tutorial on this eyeliner technique and it looks like my prayers have been answered! So excited to try this out!
This one’s for you 👆❤️

I used to wear it like this when I was a young teen. The Merle Norman lady and my grandmother taught me to wear it like this. I don't do it like this anymore. I don't know why. I had actually forgotten about it. I appreciate all your hooded eye videos! Not many people make more than a few videos for us hooded girls. I'm thankful to have someone who consistently uploads videos targeted to us.
Yes 🙌 I would love to see more videos like this because I have hooded eyes 👀 and would love 💗 to know more-tricks.
💖💖💖
This is by far one of the best eye makeup styles
This is so great! I tried it and it’s going to be my go to! Since I’ve aged my eyes are hooded and I’ve had to adapt my makeup but needed help. Thank you Smitha! I love your videos
I have zero knowledge of make up. Many terms are new to me. Learning allot through your tutorials. It's definitely an art .
I always love the education you share! Thank you!🙏💖🙏

I can't tell you how much I am enjoying your channel! It's quite difficult to find great looks that work on hooded eyes. You are a great teacher! You give all the necessary information in a way that is easy to understand. The stamping trick with the liner is a game changer, especially because I am beginning to have some crepey-ness on my lids following chemo. Thanks so much!
I thought you were wearing a beautiful eyeshadow not that your wye were discolored
Smiths is beautiful. 😊

I remember when you began your TH-cam journey. You have come a long way! I am 69 and find your videos extremely helpful. I have to brace myself everytime I know that I am preparing to do a wing. Bravo to this eye!!!
You always make these looks so easy! And by following your tutorials it totally is! Thank you Smitha, for being awesome!
Your "discoloration" looks like liquid eyeshadow. Looks good. I love that you are straight to the point, thanks for the tip :)

The stamping eyeliner trick is literally a GAME CHANGER for me. No more tugging on my lids, no more skipping, just perfection
This has been my chosen style for over 20 years. Always with a pencil eyeliner though I never have gotten the knack of liquid eyeliner. I love it!
Came out absolutely beautiful Smitha!
Hello
My thoughts are.. I llllove you! Been watching for years and you give the most cohesive instructions and best array of different choices for hooded eyes! Thank you so much, Miss Smitha!
Okay Smitha!!!! I have about 2k fingersnaps for you honey!!! I did this to my eyes today and GIRRRRRRRRRRLLLLLL!!!!! These eyes were FIERCE!!!!! I've been trying to accomplish this with my tight and hooded eyes for YEARS! You are MAGIC SMITHA!!!!!! Thank you!
That eyeliner stamp trick is life changing. Thank you so much. ❤
I never knew this style had a name. It's so cute. I have hooded eyes, so I'm going to start working on my technique for this style to improve it! You're great Smitha!!
This is how I've been applying eyeshadow as an eyeliner since the late 90s. It works so well with my hooded eyes and I also have doe shaped eyes, so it's super complimentary. I also have an olive undertone to my white skin.
