I drove old Britsh fuel tankers over this road back in the 70s these new trucks just handle this hill so well lots of power, its hsows just how much heavy traffic goes over this bit of the road. However as a motorcyclist loved this road knew whereyou could wind the bike out. Great to see many of our local carriers in this video. Seeing the JD Hickman truck I used to cart fuel further on to Mahoenui where they had a garage and a small fleet of trucks

They used to toot as they went past and switch on their Hazzard light , they would turn them off we got out of the fog to let me know it was clear. Great bunch of blokes

Hi Robert the shield is a stone guard. We have twin steer units to carry more weight evenly over our roads. less RUCs or road users charges tax
