I have the PAR OA-144 and PAR OA-432 and the bolts are threaded the full length of the bolts.I just mounted them on a mast and I’m working on the coax cables now.
It radiates all around because of the physics that Dale designed into it. That is slightly different than the radiation pattern of a regular dipole. And, it will pick up vertical or horizontal, based on orientation...just not both at the same time very well...
I have great results from a single 6m omniangle, but the single 2m omniangle doesn't give me great results. I was told by a couple hams to buy another one and stack them for a bit more gain.
What a nice and interesting Video. I was thinking to buy the 18mhz version of this nice antenna. Nice portable and lightweight. And let me tell you I like this oldie radio very much! Having here a 720A similar looking. Thanks again. Mercy 73s
sympathique comme antenne , dans mon cas , j ai ré utiliser le réflecteur de ma défunt Quagi 144 Mhz détruite a la tempête du 12/1999 ... , perf relativement bonne soit +/- 1.6 Dbd ... a bientôt ... F4pzn

here in california we lisien with a j pol e verticle and at times use same alot of the hams are running 1 kw and 10 el beams i run abt 50 w with my ft 991...a moxon antenna will give you 5 db it cost a connector and some house wireing the swr is 1 2 1 across the band and is easy to tune 2 wires and some pvc pipe would like to see you build one we use 144.200 as a calling frequency i also have a moxon on 70 cm good job on cw kg6mn keep the radio preppers alive and well Mercy........bq
thank you i have been building a couple of them I love that ypur swr is flat from one end of the band to other once you build one you have to build two. also stacking them for gain cheers kg6mn
+jerome grzelak I first built a 70cm Moxon, then a 6m, but used too thin tubing, so I will cut it up and make two 2m Moxons out of it and remake the 6m Moxon with thicker tubing...
Merci Gilles pour cette présentation. Elle ne doit pas etre tres complexe a réaliser soi-meme (homebrew), non Le IC-251 est une valeur sûre, avec un bon recepteur sensible mais pas très sélectif
By far the BEST 2 meter loop made hands down. PAR does not make JUNK.
Love your cw key! I have the same one for 20 years! Flawless!

This antenna reminds me of my 2 meter Halo antenna, it also is a Loop that is horizontally polarized.
Yes, it is Halo mutation, different supply (the most popular Halo implementation has gamma)
I'm sold, I'll be ordering one!
Tell them I sent you!
@@RadioPrepper I will do that.
I'm considering 2 with the phasing harness.

That would give you some gain as one is slightly less efficient than a horizontal dipole but truly omnidirectional.
Fascinating, thank you for the review. This PAR OA144 could be useful for USB simplex, if or when the repeaters malfunction here in the Sierras...f
That's what I use it for..
That is very nice design. I saw that it is rated for 250w. Thanks for sharing.
+Ron C Very portable for sure...
Very good on the antenna and getting on 2 meter SSB =)
+Pat Hopkins Thanks Pat :-)

that icom radio - sweet!
Yep, they come up on EBay once in a while...
I have the 6m version of this-haven't used it yet, but I intend to very soon.
+Wyowanderer777 I wish I had not sold my MFJ-9406..
thank you for to caption your French :-) 73 de DL8CY

+Mike Herbst Thanks!
Where did you get your Omniangle... Seems discontinued..?? Thanks :)
Directly from PAR.
@@RadioPrepper Thanks... I made contact with PAR. :)

+jerome grzelak Indeed, I should have mentioned that some people use verticals on USB...
YES Please look into the vhf MOXON
+jerome grzelak I am working on a Moxon video ;-)

is there any chance PAR also make Vertical Antenna ?
No idea. Check their web site..
NO not for VHF/UHF
Watte Max? Mreci pour la vudio73
Its similar a cobweb dipole !!

Effectivement..
you can use a swimming pool brush or net pole. You need a bigger mug!!
Haha that is my temp solution also. Pretty handy.
Omnidiretional so no gain?
Correct, though not always the case (colinear)..
