I just got a Morkie, he doesn’t look anything like yours. He is 8 weeks old, and only 3 pounds. Are the parents pure breeds, or are they both Morkies, or mixed with something else? Nico’s mom is a Yorkie, and Dad is a Maltese.
@@lilythemorkiepuppy916 ---- The mixture of parents make the difference. Maltese mom & Yorkie dad produce a completely different pup than Yorkie mom & Maltese dad. That's the best formula for "Maltese-like" puppies. My Morkie had a Morkie mom & a Yorkie daddy. The Morkie genes prevail.

@@The_Mastery You can't really predict the coloring. My basically dark Morkie mommy mated with 5-lb Maltese produced one black puppy similar to Mommy's coloring, 3 golden/light brown pups, and a darker brown in-between color pup. Genetics.

I do personally worry about mine for one of the reasons I chose him was his small size. He's going to be an apartment pup. Everyone including the breeder said 4-10lbs max as an adult. Were they lying to me?
The morkie size is fully dependent on the parents. The mix is a yorkie and a Maltese. My Theo is a bigger size dog but if you look at Lillie she is more petite on the yorkie size The traits of their hair or fur Colours and personalities all stem from their parents Unless specified Toy which is usually max at 8 pounds Mommies can go to 14 pounds Have you seen the parents of the dog?

The only other size for either of them is teacup. I've been searching and searching and I can't find any yorkies or maltese over 8-9lbs max.
