I got terribly sick after I stopped the paxlovid. 12 hrs vomiting before I got zofran, headache and incredible fatigue while I tested negative. I feel like the Paxlovid withdrawal was worse than the Covid. Thoughts? I am immunocompromised.
I had rebound infection that symptoms are lasting more than a week. I’ve been sick for almost 3 weeks now. I’m 55 and have asthma, went to urgent care and they gave me Paxlovid WITHOUT discussing rebound. I REGRET taking this stuff, it was NOT worth being sick this long and Dr should not be just handing this out to anyone.. now that I’ve experienced this and talking to people the false information of how “RARE” a rebound is is laughable, so far it’s about 50% of the time from people I’ve talked to who know people who have taken this…
I had a very good experience with the Paxlovid. Started feeing better a day after taking. I did have slight altered taste that went away with brushing back of the tounge, when lying down to sleep and getting up i tasted the slightly unplesasant taste. 4 days after finishing, I do have a very weak cough and a bit of sneezing, but no big symptoms as of yet. I have not retested yet
It's important to ask "Are these rebound patients taking Paxlovid to prevent a rebound, or are they taking it because they they feel the effects of covid, and the protease inhibitiors may be too little too late a response? It's about impossible to guess that Paxlovid is the cause of the rebound IF all it's doing is inhibiting the covid from creating more protein based viruses. As far as testing positive, your body may show positive for the covid antibodies next 6 months, even if you feel recovered. if you totally feel fine then why would you take another drug? If you're not fine, will this boost a preventinve response? If you did or didnt take it, would you have rebounded anyway? These are still questions without rerifiable answers. The only thing that's going to actually cause a rebound is something in package that doesnt belong there to begin with. Can you find two siblings or otherwise infected family members and give one the med and not the other?
Tested positive for covid 4 days before Christmas....had my 2 moderna vaccine and 1 booster....started taking Paxlovid, but after day 2, I stopped taking it because of bloating and I was not sleeping....but I did feel better after taking it for 2 days
I didn't get a vaccine, I didn't want one. I'm 78. I was diagnosed Dec 23, 2022 with Covid-19 and a bad cough. I had it in my lungs and throat and was prescribed Paxlovid for 5 days and after that she said she I would be fine. I went back in the Dr. Jan 3rd, 23.i was still sick and coughing bad. He prescribed a pint of strong cough medicine. I took it all and still the 1st week in Feb. It was in throat really bad.
I got this from my doctor. He did not tell me about the side effects and the rebound possibility. I research drugs before I take, and this was one I chose not to take the pills.
My dad currently two days after testing negative and taking paxlovid is once again testing positive. I pray he remains mild and tests negative soon.

Does Paxlovid contribute to Long-Covid?
Does rebound cases have symptoms and desaturation? Or are they confined only to viral shedding?

Your body should have antibodies after getting Covid. And yes, many doctors do believe the treatment itself causes the rebound, not the disease.

and it has not been fda approved. I chose not to take also.
Nobody under 65 should even take this joke of a medicine.
Can you please elaborate? I'd appreciate it thanks
