I heard Seun say "America has about 173 thousand military bases across the world in about 80 countries." This is not entirely true and misinforming the audience. According to David Vine, professor of political anthropology at the American University in Washington, DC, the US had around 750 bases in at least 80 countries as of July 2021.

I understand your argument, but note that it's a missed of tongue. If 80 bases is correct and 750 thousands is not correct, note "750". Thanks.

Foreign military base in Africa has not yielded positive results in DRC, Niger, Burkina Faso, Mali and other African countries and it will not help solve the problem of terrorism in Nigeria.

If Tinubu gives US any military base in Nigeria both the present and future generations will never forgive him.
He should be careful and reject US military base in Nigeria.

This should be agreed to if the United States extended it. But as quid pro quo, the federal government must demand for military aid in multi-millions, if not billions, military cooperation that includes top-notch security training of our personnel and improved military intelligence sharing that will help us decimate and crush boko haram and other existential security yhreats to Nigeria.
I do not understand why Prof Jibrin is citing Rusian base in Niger as a consideration. I think it is in our short and long term interest if we can negotiate a fair agreement and exit strategy in the arrangement.

What this foreign military are calling for does not in any way pose threat to the Nigeria arm force. These are known for peace brokering proccesses. I am bigining to think that the Boko Haram insurgence has something to do with religion, politics and the economy. There would have been Christian amongst these ones who had came out to sayi these.. Are they afraid of the America army?
