The Lord is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. A minute ago God was going to kill everyone with a plague straight after someone spoke against him? The only time I can recall God being slow to anger was the 400 years he sat back listening to the cries and pleas of the Israelites when they were slaves to the Egyptians whilst the Egyptians were also killing the the Israelites baby boys.

There's a theory out there about the "bicameral mind", which explains how God really did "exist" in those times. As humans became self-aware, we developed a "inner monolog". To ancient humans just becoming self-aware, this was the "voice of God" telling them to do things. As we evolved, we learned that the "inner monolog" is our own conscious awareness, and then God kind of slowly disappeared. That is, we evolved out of bicameralism. Thus, what we call schizophrenia today was normal for humans several thousand years ago. If you believe in this theory.

The people who made up this god had limited imaginations. All powerful gods could just remove people from the town, POOF! Here ya go, a nice place to live, just clean up what the last party left. Heck, the whole Noah's ark bs could have just been, hey, god makes all the bad folks vanish. No boat required, nor the killing of pregnant women, whose fetuses are presumably free of sin. It's just a bunch of poorly written, illogical crap.
I've been a tolerant atheist for years, but the idea that there are people who want to run my life based on a book that is so ridiculous, that posits a god so absolutely stupid and vile, makes me doubt the sanity of so many people. If it wasn't for the fact they are brainwashed from childhood, I would hope some of them would reject this foolishness.

I never understood why believers talk about being a 'god fearing Christian' until I read the bible. And I cannot, for the life of me, understand why the believes think this is a good thing. As this chapter show all too well (as well as many other chapters) the only way to survive gods 'love' is to worship him out of fear. Fear of what he might do if you disobey or question anything.
The Israelites are still slaves. Except the pharaoh could not just kill them all if he wanted to, he needed them for labour, god can kill them for fun.
For an all powerful and all knowing entity, god really is stuck on murder as the only solution to any problem.
Even if god was real, if the bible is anything to judge him by, he is not worthy of worship. Only fear.

The current thinking about God is that He is omnipotent (all powerful), omniscient (knows past, present, and future), and omni-benevolent (loves everybody). This idea derives from Plato and has *nothing* to do with the Bible. The God of the Old Testament is notoriously *none* of those omni things. He is just a super hero (or supervillain) who plays hardball politics, is super quick to anger, and always ready to smite friend or foe (like the Hulk). When people talk appreciatively about the God of the Bible, they only show they have not understood the Bible.

Importantly, these events aren't even 'supernatural', so there is no reason to ask how, or why, they have occurred. A genuinely 'supernatural' event' would call for serious investigation. People win lotteries, because lotteries are only successful if someone actually wins them. Wins are not a blessing from god, but they are essential to maintain interest in playing the lottery. @dukebanerjee4710 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Actually, there is a huge difference between the Jewish version of Satan and the Christian version. In Judaism, the idea that an angel can rebel against God doesn't make sense, they are servants. God created evil and Satan to test people, kind of like a jealous boyfriend testing his girlfriend's loyalty. The idea that there are opposing forces of good and evil is not a Jewish idea, it is a Persian and Greek idea. Satan got retconned into the villain role once the Greeks got their hands on Jewish mythology to work Jesus into the story.

    • @patelk464
      @patelk464 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@dukebanerjee4710 the idea of a servant rebelling against can make perfect sense, especially if the servant believes the master has become abusive. @@patelk464 What you're talking about only applies to a being that has free will. Angels in Judaism don't have free will. they are made to be servants. It's like saying if you abuse your toaster hard enough, it will rise up against you.
Judaism isn't dualistic. God created everything, including evil. Without evil, good would be meaningless. That's Jewish theology, which is completely different than Christian theology.

    • @patelk464
      @patelk464 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@dukebanerjee4710 the passages in Luke 10:14 and Isaiah 14:12-13 appear to reference to an element of free will in Satan. I recognise that these are not part of Judaism and therefore have no bearing on it.
In relation to comparing angles to a toaster, it would not be considered a good analogy. An angle could not have gained free will if an element of free will did not already exist. As such a better analogy would be a ship master an obedient crew.
The separation of good and evil has always been a religious concept. Primary aim was to see their God as good rather than being emotionless or self-centered. In most primitive patriarchal societies good or evil is defined by impact on survival or how it affects the family standing within the society.

Hello everyone! Let’s see what YHWH, Moses and the gang are up to in Numbers 14, shall we?
    Numbers 14:1-4
YHWH turned out to be worse for the Israelites. Shouldn’t Moses and Aaron do something to address their concerns? I am predicting that-
    Numbers 14:5-9
So YHWH will only lead the people to the land if they stroke his ego (never mind whether or not they’re good people such as being honest or having loving hearts). Is there evidence of the land of milk and honey? Is the milk made from plants? Also, why is genocide the solution? YHWH is omnipotent, he can easily persuade the inhabitants of the land of milk and honey to share the space with the Israelites.
    Numbers 14:10-12
Why is YHWH asking about how long he would be treated with contempt? I thought he’s Ominscience. If he knew people will be dissatisfied and unhappy, he would’ve already knew how to address the issues they may have coming their way. Wow, punish doubters with plagues.. How does that teach them anything? What is the context behind threatening people with plagues? To stroke his ego, that’s what.
    Numbers 14:13-19
Slow to anger? Lol. If he were truly slow to anger, it would’ve toke a lot to effort to get him mad (if not impossible). Doubting, murmuring, drunkenness, etc. just don’t take very much to set off YHWH. He gets worse later in the Bible. Heck, he doesn’t forgive sin and rebellion (See Leviticus 10 as an example).
“The Lord is slow to anger; abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion.”
    The next verses contradicts this.
“Yet he does not leave the guilt unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.”
So much for being slow to anger, being benevolent and to forgive sin and rebellion. Also, what a terrible solution. Why not just punish the parents directly and leave their kids out of it? Why doesn’t YHWH just take the kids of the third and fourth generations? He knew about their futures ahead of time, he should be able to prevent them from repeating from their parent’s mistakes. Why not just let the great love speak for itself?
    Numbers 14:20-25
How did YHWH forgive them? How many times did the Israelites make mistakes? Why would anyone who had seen YHWH’s miracles in Egypt (and in the wilderness) want to disobey? Wouldn’t they know he exists? Why doesn’t YHWH want to be tested? Doesn’t he want people to know he exists? Why is he playing peekaboo with people, choosing who he reveals himself to and who not to? I thought he loved all his children equally.
How did Celeb follow him? How does follow YHWH wholeheartedly?
    Numbers 14:26-35
YHWH projecting to Moses and Aaron about how he has heard the complaints from the Israelites. It turns into him listing ways he is going to punish the Israelites who dares to speak out against him.
    Numbers 14:36-38
Dear Leader hates hearing about what he needs to hear instead of what he wants to hear. Another example of preferring people to stroke his ego rather than being truthful.
    Numbers 14:39-40
Let me guess, and they’re going to “like it” just because Moses said so?
    Numbers 14:41-45
So because of the Israelites’s supposed sins, they are going to “fall by the enemies swords”. Does that mean YHWH will not reveal himself to anyone who talked bad about him or doubted him?
Man, this is a disturbing chapter. The Israelites were collectively talking bad about Moses, Aaron and their Dear Leader out of dissatisfaction. Rather than investigating on why they aren’t happy, YHWH projects about how he is going to punish the Israelites for disobedience and for their sins. The Amalekites and Canaanites defeating the Israelites in combat is all because they didn’t obey YHWH wholeheartedly.

In the bible narrative, this here is near the start of the 40 years. Exodus 16:35 was a casual mention of this same 40 years. This might not be the exact start, because they have already spent some time, and the total is 40 years. But it must be near the start. My point is that it is the same 40 years as in exodus 16:35, not a second. So the total is 40 years, not 80.

They were two years between the Red Sea and Kadesh-Barnea. They then spend an additional 38 years wandering in the wilderness. I believe there are at least two ways of viewing this.
      1) God gives the credit for time served and thus reduces the penalty, or
      2) It was to be 40 years or that entire generation dies, hhichever comes first.
Personally, I think that the credit four the two years before this point seems the most likely option.

He said that the whole thing about "An odor pleasant to the Lord" is a a mistranslation and it's not the odor, but was just a way of signifying that the burning of the meat was pleasing, but due to the translation issues, it gets misinterpreted as being God enjoying the smell of burning flesh.

[Leibniz's contingency argument for God, clarified]:
Ten whole, rational numbers 0-9 and their geometric counterparts 0D-9D.
    0 and it's geometric counterpart 0D are:
    1) whole
    2) rational
    3) not-natural (not-physical)
    4) necessary
1-9 and their geometric counterparts 1D-9D are:
    1) whole
    2) rational
    3) natural (physical)
    4) contingent
Newton says since 0 and 0D are
    "not-natural" ✅
    then they are also
    "not-necessary" 🚫.
Newton also says since 1-9 and 1D-9D are "natural" ✅
    then they are also
    "necessary" 🚫.
This is called "conflating" and is repeated throughout Newton's Calculus/Physics/Geometry/Logic.
    con·flate
    verb
combine (two or more texts, ideas, etc.) into one.
Leibniz does not make these fundamental mistakes.
Leibniz's "Monadology" 📚 is zero and it's geometric counterpart zero-dimensional space.
    0D Monad (SNF)
    1D Line (WNF)
    2D Plane (EMF)
    3D Volume (GF)
We should all be learning Leibniz's Calculus/Physics/Geometry/Logic.
    Fibonacci sequence starts with 0 for a reason. The Fibonacci triangle is 0, 1, 2 (Not 1, 2, 3).
    Newton's 1D-4D "natural ✅ =
necessary 🚫" universe is a contradiction.
Natural does not mean necessary. Similar, yet different.
Not-natural just means no spatial extension; zero size; exact location only. Necessary.
Newtonian nonsense will never provide a Theory of Everything.
Leibniz's Law of Sufficient Reason should be required reading 📚.

But we here learned earlier in the Bible that God/Jehovah/etc. enjoys high quality meat, be it the best calf, bull, goat, bird or whatever he can weasel out of his hardworking minion followers. God killed Cain (what, 1/4th of the human population?) for offering the best of his farm field for god (his grandfather?) to eat. God scorned this and instead preferred the product of a slaughter fixed on a hot grill maybe he only thing on which I'll agree with "god". Later god killed (murdered) two sons of a faithful follower (Isaac? Aaron? I can't recall), because the sons didn't follow the rules of service properly. That meat had to be prepared correctly! I'll never agree that washing the Temple in animal blood is a good idea -- unless only men are given that cleaning task.

Atheism does fail to see something about God's dealings with Christians in every branch of denominations, also, them who once we're christians, them who pretend to be one, and those who hate God and Christians.
    1. God will deal with christians first as a father does with a rebellious child. It says,
"For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And “If the righteous is scarcely saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”
    1 Peter 4:17‭-‬18.
In other words, if God will render to his own their due, what will happen to you the unbeliever.
    2. God will by no means overlook the hypocrisy of false pastors, false teachers of the prosperity Gospel who took advantage of people for selfish gain, as it says,
"But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep."
    2 Peter 2:1‭-‬3.
Because of them it reads, the way of truth will be blasphemed by many. This are them who in the old testament and in this present time have an appointment with God.
    3. God will by no means draw in again those who once professed faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, only end up rejecting him with mockery, as it also says,
"For (it is impossible), in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then (have fallen away), to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.
    Hebrews 6:4‭-6.
This are them that for many reasons leave the church to curse the living God, but it says of them also,
"For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. What the true proverb says has happened to them: “The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.”
    2 Peter 2:20‭-‬22.
And what can i say, this times where told from long ago, and I'm just reading what it says, as also is Hemant.
"knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires." 2 Peter 3:3. Peace people ✌️🕊️
