    Hi Stefan, too much “spooning” going on, in bro 😎 camp here!!
    You’re pretty switched on and know your gear pros and cons . Maybe some Zip ties could’ve replaced the bolt and nut issue for the time being….
    I always carry Zippo lighter fluid for starting fires in damp conditions/wet days . It’s in a leak proof container/ flask and very safe to use.( low flash point)
    Enjoy watching your travels!!

      LOL no spooning in a single stretcher, yea zip ties or even a stick likely would have worked temporarily but ended up in town then anyway, I carry Shellite for my stove that is also quite a good accelerant

    Great video, pretty disappointing with the bunker & 6 months of BS to get a replacement. Unfortunately most OZ TENT equipment IMO doesn't match the quality & price. I cant find any info on " town of Mitchell campground & picnic area ??? Which NP is it in. Cheers 👍

      sadly have to agree still waiting for someone to come up with a high-quality stretcher lightweight stretcher tent. The campground is at the Mann River Reserve at the old Grafton Rd

    Funny Mate, Last time I travelled through there it absolutely bucketed down. On that particular trip I was testing a lightweight fly type tarp. I was also using a dual fuel twin burner stove (really old equipment of mine). Anyway, the rain was torrential & gusty & I had my tarp low & wrapped around the side & the generator on the fuel fuel malfunctioned & I had a mini explosion & it was only my quick reflex action (something I probably couldn’t achieve now) I sent the stove flying onto the torrential rain …… & the only damage I sustained was a bent lid on the fuel fuel 😂. Ohhh & in the depths of my kit I had a new spare replacement generator for the fuel fuel. It was saturating rain, which probably prevented a real fire that night 🙏🏻
    Looks like good fun that carving, as I normally camp alone probably not a good idea for me, I might end up losing a limb.
    Something relaxing about listening to the litter patter of rain on the camp at night.
    Happy New Year Stefan 👍

      thanks for sharing, glad you did not get hurt, I had a Mukka cover make explode or better the top rocket upwards for a few meters just a few seconds after having a look at how coffee goes. Sometimes you need a bit of luck in life.

    I personally can't eat off wooden cutlery as it's very irritating on the tongue and mouth. I have some smooth bought ones, takeaway ones and also can't lick pop sticks & ice cream sticks. I wonder if anyone else is the same.

    Nice,next time l wouldn't bother starting the fire like Grizzly Adams,go to Bunning and get some fire starters and bbq lighter. In the days l was your age petrol was the go,l stopped doing that because l run out of hair on the head.

    • @AlloffroadAu
      @AlloffroadAu  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can I suggest a Kovea burner on a cheap gas bottle to light the fire....... It works brilliantly to make grilled cheese on toast as well :) Years ago when we had the $98 GMC generators they would gum up the carbies and wouldn't start - so the kovea was opened without lighting and the gas fed into the carby - the gennie started on butane and after a little while the gummed fuel was dissolved and away it went!

    • @AlloffroadAu
      @AlloffroadAu  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      to be honest I always cary a few fire lighters and together with either ferrous rod or lighter never had an issue doing a fire 🔥, this was just for fun

    Pity about the Oz Tent Bunker and Bunker Pro! I'm up for a new compact tent/swag/stretcher combo myself but reckon I'll give OzTent a miss after seeing this video.
    Like a lot of other brands, OzTent is probably mass produced offshore. It's hard to find good quality gear these days which is a real shame!
    BTW, great video! Old Grafton Road certainly can be an adventure!

      @@AlloffroadAu i bought the first generation of the o tent rv5 and all accessories and I only just learnt it was made in china, I’m very annoyed about and same goes with Rhino rack pioneer platform a bought, the first generation, made in China! All the Aussie?cinese brand saying Australia owned and designed but made in china is so disappointing. It is a wonder that cost of manufacturing is more expensive here, though more manufacturing is coming back as it is not so cheap in china anymore as well as the quality is poor, and delays in delivery. Trying to accessorise my troopy with all Aussie made gear.

    • @AlloffroadAu
      @AlloffroadAu  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes quite a pity indeed, I try to use Australian made whenever possible but with many items, it is not. I wish we start manufacturing again and especially if stuff lasts and is reparable I'm happy to pay more for many things.
