Big thanks to the fine folks at Move for making this one happen. Their support team actually saved my last shoot after I thought I had messed the whole thing up. Thanks also to my friends Shaun and KC for helping me with some of the set-up.
How did you get a hold of the software? What did it cost? From what I read it used to be $50 a month for 20 minutes of video, Whereas now the cheapest option is $2500 for 3 months and 60 minutes of video (for the entire 3 months). WTF? It went from awesome and affordable-for-indie solution to just another "meh" mocap solutions for established / big companies : |
Nice! Putting down the boards to mark out your volume was a really smart... MOVE(.ai). Really impressive results, I don't think I will be buying a mocap suit any time soon!
Absolutely INCREDIBLE! Well done. When I saw someone even play with a soccer ball using Move AI i knew we had something special. Have you messed with Wonder Dynamics yet?
I had to do a lot of sync’ing because of the bad cameras and their frame drift. If the clips are close, doing the clap sync should go a long way in Move. You could always ask them though for beat practices.
Save those cheap cameras for any time you want a vintage vhs look. It'll shave seconds off your processing time because you won't need to use a filter in Resolve! 🤣
@@WoodyDevs definitely the potential for live full body tracking as a vtuber without needing a lot of equipment, plus I’ve seen it has some detailed face tracking as well!
would love a vid on your take about best free tracking programs. I wanna save enough to have a Rokoko suit… but since im a plebe, thats gonna take a while :(
@@WoodyDevs was afraid so. After watching ur vid, I went nuts trying to get more info into that software... but turns out that its a subscription model! :( It does look amazing and easy to use... but don't know if its paying model is a good comparison to Rokoko or the other suits in the long run. Would love to hear your take on which, long-term solution is better to invest for game creators
And you'd probably be right. I've animated characters like these before. BUT! In doing mocap I had new ideas I might not have had before. The idea to give the mage a book came during recording.
Why you wasting your time bro on those dumb animation youtube wont give us the attention we want i worked very hard 2 years but youtube gives me only 2k views loooooooook

Really great video! The final animations came out really nicely!
That mustache, clear indication of Kung-fu master... Epic! And kind of fun and cool video even it was just a long advert :)
Awesome Video! Love the outcome of this experiment ✨✨
Also .. Congratulations on the sponsor!
Neato burrito. who knew Woody could get so W I D E
I thought about this afterwards. Dang. What a missed opportunity for a tie-in.
grats on the sponsor, and great vid!
3:05 - oh no!
Where did that 3d stylized guy gone?😮
Whos these arms taking your camera?🧐

Thanks for the vidoe! can you compare this to other solutions for cheap Mocap?
That's a good idea. Maybe in the future!
How could you sync videos? I want to use android phones. Without USB

That was great :)
So I'm going to give this a go with a papalook and a akaso ek7000. In fact I think I'll try the ek7000s as they can record to an SD card :)
is it possible to transform motion capture in real time and output it to an led screen?
They actually do have this for that exact context. It was recently announced. Send em an email!
@@WoodyDevs do you mean the unreal engine folks or these people you have in the vid? Ty for much for your response. This is important.
@@victorwarner319 Move.ai has an integration for volumes they're doing with disguise. It looks cool.
HEY WOODY, please please PLEASE if you can make a vid covering mocap4all, that’d be amazing! It’s a webcam based mocap solution a lot like this one
I've definitely heard of this. What do you think is most exciting about it?
@@WoodyDevs definitely the potential for live full body tracking as a vtuber without needing a lot of equipment, plus I’ve seen it has some detailed face tracking as well!
I remember doing this process with ps3 eyes in an abandoned barn back in 2016
Lol that sounds pretty similarly difficult. 😂

There aren't a lot of free ones. You might want to look into the ones that are pay-once or have lower starting costs.

Dude that’s so neat!!
You're neat!
Damn, and then along come wonder studio... RIP!
I also get everything for free. Don't pay until you must
Of course, it's great that you told us about this technology, but in my opinion it was easier to animate these characters manually
