When I pick an unripen mango from the tree, I ripen it inside the house. The ripening time depends on various factors, like the maturity level of mango fruit at time of picking, Temperatures, mango variety, size etc. But typically in summer on average it takes 2 to 5 days to ripen a full mature mango off the tree.
*Naveed Afzal, this would be a good topic for the mango forms. I'm wondering if anyone has a technical answer? I'm wondering if it could be similar to blossom end rot in tomato due to poor Calcium assimilation during early early fruit development. So many things can interfere with Calcium assimilation even if it is high in both water & soil.*
I am still a mango growing student and learn something new every day. I don't know what the problem is. Hopefully some day I will find out. I tackle this problem by removing the fruit as soon as I see a color break and then ripen it inside and it works alright.
@@TheNaveed787 I think that you are doing an awesome job! 💯 😉 This is very challenging soil, as well as environment. The aluminum foil was a great idea too.
@@TheNaveed787 *Doing extra thinking on the topic of over ripe at blossom end. I'm wondering if it might be Auxin (Transport & Redirection) other than that controlled by Calcium. Going to do some experiments. Get back to you & the mango group in 3 months.*
I noticed that you plucked the green mangos which have a slight yellow colouring. How long does it take the greener mangos to ripen indoors?
