In 7x01 they skipped back to ~10 years ago Hondo was 21-David why is he 27-David in s5
If you had watch season 1 and 4 where deacon and hondo came across a couple of racist cops the deacon reported them and hondo exposed them to the press
At the end of season 4 hondo got domoted from squad leader so when he returns to work Sanchez a former swat officer takes over a 20 squad leader so that makes hondo 27 David
And for 7x01 hondo is a swat officer at that time so if you had watch the first episode you would know buck spivey is team leader since they had different call signs that time hondo is 21 David
