Hawkeye deserves more credit, he was the most human hero in the universe along with still having plenty of skills, he was a down to earth, family man who helped Wanda through tough times in her life, losing her brother and then helping her through the guilt of accidentally killing the people in civil war. He IS a hero and he proved that you just need to be the best damn person you can be and that doesn't need any powers.

He's a family man who cares for his wife and children, a man of deep compassion who tries to help everyone he can but more than anything he's a real hero. Tony made a sacrifice, but Clint lost a lot too and he does NOT get enough credit.
Ikr, the dude lost his whole family and proceeded to kill to avenge them, then finds out he didn't need to kill and there's a way to save them, misses a chance to talk to his daughter for the first time in five years and then loses two of his friends.
He doesn't get enough credit because the script writers didn't gave him much feats. I'm pretty sure a great hawkeye scene would be Hawkeye calculating the trajectory of his arrows and how it was almost impossible but he nails it and how it was the most important moment for the heroes to win or something like that . That's how you make a superhero impressive.

Not having Clint in Dr. Strange: the MoM was such a huge miss. They desperately needed a character who actually understood and sympathized with Wanda to justify the whole trying to save her after she started killing people. He's the only character that not only knew Vision but has also helped Wanda multiple times and also had a family where he lost his mind when he lost them. Had they had Clint they could have more naturally had Wanda's and Strange's story arcs come together rather than it being the mess that it was. But they so badly want to pass the torch they missed the easy lay up they had right in front of them. Imagine how much more powerful it would have been to see Strange be so calus towards Wanda but listened to Clint enough trying to reach out he saw the error of his own ways and how he's handled losing Christine.
