- A dangerous heatwave is affecting Santa Monica beachgoers who have also been advised to keep out of the ocean waters due to high bacteria levels this weekend.

The heatwave is not the cause of the bacteria in the water. It's the homeless using the beach as the bathroom.

Everyone in San Diego County knows of TJ runoff. Surfed from Imperial Beach down To Cardiff. You def knew it from IB to OB. You could just look at the water. But if the waves was good we still surfed lol. Luckily I only experienced some eye irritations. Nowadays not so sure id do it. Never know what the hell is being dumped in that TJ water, could be crap from fenty or meth labs…

The Santa Monica bacteria is due to our own runoff - not Tijuana's.

Maybe we shouldn’t blame the heat, maybe we should blame the horrible conditions of Los Angeles County and city. The streets are filthy. There’s trash everywhere. There’s homeless people pooping and urinating everywhere. All that water runs into the ocean causing bad conditions for the ocean. It’s not the heat it’s the pollution.
Maybe also blame all the red states that offer no help for people who are homeless and dump their problems on California.
And I say this as someone who has lived in the south.

Whenever its hot, the bacteria level is high in the water and we cant go in the water! Only time you can enjoy the water when its hot outside, which makes the beach useless for everyone smh....whats the point of having the beach if we can never go into the water on a hot day to enjoy and cool off!!!! City needs to do something about it
