    We have this same model, not this specific one, but one identical, same year and everything. The only issues we had were when we first purchased it were with the alignment on the chassis was just dreadful. After two trips to Chevy and then purchasing a very heavy duty steering stabilizer it cruises great. Just this summer we completed a 3000 mile 8 state journey from Texas all the way up to Yellowstone, back down through Idaho, Utah, back across Colorado and New Mexico and home. This thing performed fabulous. With the exception of going up and down 6% to 10% grades and up to 11300 feet in elevation, which was scary, but nevertheless the motor home was great. Heck we drove it everywhere, did we get to see absolutely everything? No, but having your own bathroom and kitchen with you everywhere was awesome! Need to leave the dogs in the RV? No problem, fire up the generator and run the A/C. Need to use the bathroom? No problem, just go. Need to have lunch? No problem. Get the auto-leveling for sure but this was a great experience!

      All chassis motorhomes A/B/C need to have an alignment done. Even brand new. Got the 6" lift from WeldTec Designs and they took care of it.

    750 lb. cab-over bed rating is fantastic. Gives the consumer more confidence in the quality and durability of the unit’s construction. As you said, while it’s very unlikely it would have to hold that much weight you never know and it definitely DOES give peace of mind ti those sleeping in it. Good job, Jayco. I hope RV manufacturers start providing such high-capacity bedding in bunkhouse models. What good is it to have beds that can only accommodate kids or very small adults? Doing so prevents couples from traveling and camping together - in fact, IMO RV makers should launch a campaign emphasizing how their products are so sturdy that they can easily accommodate adult couples.

    I find myself in love with RVs. I didn’t know why until u told the story of camping as a child. My granddad didn’t have a RV but he had this van that had small kitchen and bed in it. I use to love going on road trips in that van. Thanks for bringing those memories to my attention

    I shared this on Facebook and tagged my wife. Her reply was the she was short, but not easy. Thinking a class C might be best for me. I have a 6 speed manual Subaru Forester I could use as a toad. The kids can play games and use the bathroom while I am driving. My kid's don't weigh 750 pounds, but they could destroy an anvil with a rubber hammer, so sturdier is always better.

      @JoshtheRVNerd  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's one of those "50/50" things I think. Half of people agree with you. Half are inclined to disagree. So Jayco has to pick one and stick with it. It's likely easier for them to continue using the same sink thru their lineup rather than change sinks for each model.

    I like the size, and the big overhead bunk. But, you can sure see the cost-cutting measures... such as the lack of any windows in the cabover bed, and the cheap, sagging sheet-like privacy curtain. Otherwise, this rig would be ideal for me if it had a fixed rear bed and no slideout room.

    Just a few questions? One day in the short foreseeable future I will not have a choice but to live on the road. I have done much research on all of this and I am still baffled when comes to cargo van conversion vs something like this for full time living. My main concern is lifespan? things happening where it turns into a money sink? 4 season weather handling? (but nothing too extreme but always a possibility). I have read that if something goes wrong with an RV that it takes a lot of $$ to fix it, from appliances to even something as simple as a tire? or if a breakdown occurs it would have to be fixed by a dealer only? making it very hard to get fixed. I do like these being they have more room and more storage no matter how customized a van is and the price would come out about the same being I am not Mr handyman. Basically, I would just like to live out my last days with very few worries as I will have enough to worry about it.

    So, there's a rear view camera to allow you to check that your tow is still attached. Where does the picture show up? There's no screen in the middle of the dashboard (as there was with the larger Jayco motor homes). Or is this another of those, you gotta have the app on your now overtaxed smart-phone (which is working as your GPS, Tire-pressure monitor, telephone, etc.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They're several steps ahead on this one. See what looks like an oversized rear view mirror in the cab area? That's your camera. The positioning is fantastic as it allows you a very natural and organic place you're used to looking for rear viewing.

      Those are not things you'll find in this price bracket is the easiest way I can say it. Jayco will start offering those features on their larger models
      It may be worth mentioning RVs like this do not use true "Thermal Windows." A dual pane window in an RV is almost never gas charged & offers virtually no additional R-Value

      They're good for reducing noise in the RV but that's been the only significant benefit I can find them providing.

      Haylett RV That’s too bad, I really like the brand, the look, and the interiors. But I would not buy a unit without Azdel. I wish the whole industry would just move over to this product. Nobody wants to buy something and then five years later have the walls coming apart on the outside.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@VocalVirgo Important to understand Azdel-using motorhome MFGs only use it in half the wall. The other half is still lauan. It's also not the azdel that fails and usually not the lauan that fails, but rather the glue that holds them all together.
      It is still possible for Azdel units to delaminate. Just trickier. Azdel also cannot stop the creation of mold spores if there is a leak. The #1 thing is to maintain your RV. Do that and it doesn't matter what substrates are used
