I rarely ever comment on TH-cam...however, i wanted to let you know that i absolutely adore your weekly Vlogs... I especially love your book reviews as you have this way of describing and articulating in a way that i can somehow never achieve when trying to explain a book to someone! Also, the gold earrings are gorge! AND...Yaaaayyyy to being honest about 'hello fresh'...am sick of seeing every TH-camr and their dog recommending them. Greetings from Munich. xx

Food shopping might be my favourite after book shopping. I could spend hours in a big supermarket, almost as much time as in a good bookstore!

    • @BrittanyBathgate1
      @BrittanyBathgate1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

I used to enjoy it, but I think because the atmosphere in supermarkets at the moment is uncomfortable I prefer to get it over and done with as quickly as possible. Book shopping on the other hand, I could do that for hourrrrrrs 😍

Absolutely loved the what I eat in a week section, it was honestly so helpful and it's refreshing to see it in the context of your vlogs as opposed to dedicated videos where we're just overwhelmed with a ton of recipes and ended up picking nothing up in the end. Would be lovely to see some glimpses of your meals or snacks here and there throughout the weeks. And also, thank you for these vlogs, they have become something I look forward to each week and always choose to put on when needing a calm and grounding time. Your life is realistic yet full of beauty, and that is something to aspire to, so thank you.

Huh that is such a strange hello fresh experience! I was definitely paying under £40 a week for 3 meals. And that was without any discounts. And each “meal” was 2 portions so was really two meals - I would have it for my lunch the next day. And I really liked loads of the recipes! Maybe it varies by region? I’m in Edinburgh.
I noticed that you were carrying toilet paper from the shops. I also live alone. So I get my loo roll and kitchen roll delivered in bulk from who gives a crap. It’s really good recycled quality and comes in recyclable plastic free packaging. Also they donate something like 10% of their profits to water aid! Honestly it’s so good, much more ecological and cost effective and means you don’t run our for ages or have to lug from the shops!
Wow - toilet paper; the excitement!
Your blogs and Lizzie blogs remain my absolute faves xxx

Maybe I picked the wrong recipes?! Or I eat a lot due to running 😳 I just checked my account again to double check I wasn't seeing things...£42.99. Could possibly be a regional thing 🤷‍♀️

I would really recommend getting a 'granny' shopping trolley. They have saved me while I lived alone and didn't have a car, and I know think my all navy one looks that bad but you can get a collapsible one that fits in your shopper or one you attach your own bags to. Meant I could buy everything in one which saved money and was really helpful for going to the post office or even for picnics over summer with friends. Even now I have moved in with my partner and he has a car he still insists we use it because it's so helpful.

Normally we can too, but due to COVID it’s quite difficult to get delivery slots. A lot of them are booked up wayyyy in advanced due to people shielding/self isolating still. I really don’t mind walking to the shop a couple of times a week (maybe it seemed like a big deal in the video?! Because people keep telling me to do an online shop 🤦🏼‍♀️) I’d rather do a couple of trips and leave the delivery slots for people that need them more than me.

If you haven't read The House of the Spirits by Isabelle Allende I would definitely recommend for a multigenerational family saga!

I came here to check if someone recommended this :)
And of course One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez!

I’m not a recipe cooker, I just improvise. I do read a lot of recipes, but I would never cook anything exactly like that. I’m not one for lists either, I just go to the supermarket and decide then and there, as I go.

Can you order online and have your groceries delivered? Great to see another vlog, I hope you're feeling better this week after the traumatic events of recent weeks.

Thank you ❤️ Usually yes, but at the moment its difficult to get a delivery scheduled. Slots are being reserved for people who are shielding still or self isolating. I don’t mind taking a couple of trips ☺️ I’d rather that than take up delivery slots that could be used by people who need them more than me.

Hi Brittany! Would you mind sharing where you buy your orange wine? So sorry if you mentioned before, I tried looking and couldn’t find it - I am desperate to try it!

Hello 👋🏻 I usually buy wine from my local wine shop, but when shopping online I usually order from Noble Fine Liquor, Vina Loca or Wayward Wines.

Where do you like to find new books to read? Do you like to choose mostly new released novels? Thank you :]

Mix and match really. Sometimes I like to browse the new section in my local bookshop, but I also like to use Goodreads to discover older books. 🖤

Maybe consider buying a foldable shopping trolley? Not necessarily aesthetic but very useful!

What don’t try online food shopping? I live on my own & don’t drive. I get a online Sainsbury shop. Really handy for buying bulk items like bottled water & clothes washing liquid. You have to spend a minimum of £40 for £1 delivery ..x

I can't seem to get a delivery slot for love nor money! The delivery slots are always booked up for weeks in advance. I think a lot of them are still being reserved for people who are shielding still or self isolating, so I'd rather keep shopping IRL than taking up slots for people who need them more than me. x

@@BrittanyBathgate1 oooh thanks for replying. Well fair enough if you want to keep shopping spaces/slots free for people in need etc...But it is worth considering if you are really dreading a food shop. I felt like that and it just really was a relief not to be dreading it. P.S. Love your book reviews/recommendations btw. xx
