- What an amazing trip to San Francisco this was! Work was the purpose of this trip, but a lot of fun and adventure still happened! In this vlog I show you Pier 39, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Musée Mécanique, the Fishermans Wharf area, Haight Ashbury, and SO much more!
I also talk about experiencing House of Nanking, The Gregangelo Museum, and Smugglers Cove Tiki Bar earlier in the week.
Even after doing all that, I barely scratched the surface on things to do in the Bay Area. Clearly Sherri and I need to come back and explore this city together and with more time.

Hey! Thank you for this! I lived in Cali for my first 27 years, working in San Francisco. Tge Buena Vista restaurant was a favorite haunting ground as was the Curran Theatre, taking a cable car wherever possible. The sourdough at the wharf wuth a bottle of wine and some cheese...I love The City, still.
Thank you for visiting our lovely city and giving it justice. Lately, it’s all negative publicity and hate for our city. It’s beautiful and has lots to offer. I love that you picked the Beast mode sandwich to show love for your Seahawks. I also laughed hard when you mentioned the Zachmans and SF. Much love to you and Sherry!
Thankyou for the wonderful tour! My daughter and her family loved San Francisco!
Ahh, how lovely! So glad you had a great time in my favorite city. I was born there, then it was my home and/or work base for many years. I’m so glad you got to see & show the beauty of so much of it. And wow, when we lived in the upper Haight in the 80s it had none of the cool retro stuff, still pretty hung over from the rough end of the 60s I suspect. Times have certainly changed.
Loved the ferry tour! We take a ferry from Richmond to the Ferry Building pretty often, to eat or go to Giants games. What a gorgeous ride, a half hour & you can see 3 bridges at once along the way, it’s spectacular.
And thanks for reminding me of the Musee Mechanique! Used go visit the original version a lot as a kid when it was out at Ocean Beach under the old Cliff House restaurant. We just never go to Pier 39, but clearly we need to make the Musee a destination.
If the Cliff House reopens, and if it seems to be any good at all, you might check that out on yr next trip. Ocean Beach is a nice cold NorCal beach for walking, but pretty gorgeous. I’d add North Beach as well. Not sure how they’re doing these days, but if the Haight can look that pretty, well then many things can happen!
Can’t wait ‘til Sherri gets to visit!
Golden Gate Park! Bloody Marys, turtles, bison, roller skaters, butterflies, soooo cool!
Ok here’s my list of things to add to your trip when you bring Sherri:
1)Japanese Tea Gardens in Golden Gate Park
2) Muir Woods Nat’l Monument (save 2-4 hours to walk thru and drive to/from
3) San Francisco Zoo
4) beach area
5) Fort Point (under the Golden Gate Bridge)
6) Palace of Fine Arts area
7) look up the various museums
There is so much to see & do! I’m so jealous… I was born there and miss it terribly! Enjoy my city by the bay ❤️
Just came back from Boston and NYC and I realized it's been years since I've done touristy stuff while living in SF for 20 years. So this summer, I want to revisit some of the "tourist attraction" in the city so thanks for this video. We did a Charles River duck tour in Boston and a skyline cruise in NY but I still think the SF Bay cruise is better. The Golden Gate bridge is still beautiful to look at even after all these years.
I agree, SFO was absolutely gorgeous. The architecture is si beautiful ❤
Thank You for taking us along with you, Adam. I loved seeing San Francisco with you!! The Golden Gate Bridge was awesome!!
Doing the Golden Gate cruise was one of my favorite experiences! Being able to be that close to the bridge really was cool
@@LeggLifenext time walk it…you’ll really get a wonderful view and experience….
San Fran sounds like a lot of fun! So sweet you saved the Full House and other to do items to do with Sherri! I would love to see the same stuff some day.
We loved San Francisco when we went a couple years ago. Agree with all the walking involved.. it’s a lot. Can’t wait until yall get to see the Disney Family museum together. I also liked that you showed people that San Fran is a nice place to visit and not what negative people think or say
Adam, thanks so much for taking us along!! I haven’t been to SF in probably more than 20 years! You showed places I’d never seen before!! Again, thanks for bringing us along👍🏾
My husband and I drove from Los Angeles to San Francisco 4 years ago and spent almost a week there. Absolutely love San Francisco. So much more to explore. Loved China Town ❤
So nice to get an opportunity to explore new city while you're on a business trip. Especially when the business trip is stressful, so I'm so glad you're having this opportunity and sharing it with us all.
So thankful for free time to get to do all of this!
It was great seeing San Francisco through your eyes. I live across the Bay and only go there when we have out of town company. Next time have a hot fudge sundae at Ghirardelli Square 😊
Go Hawks! That Beast Mode sandwich needs to come with a pack of Skittles! 😂
I live here and never get the time to do all this! Glad you enjoyed it so much. I’ve never regretted moving here from the Virgin Islands decades ago. Best decision ever!
Please come back!
😂🎉
Pier 39 looked like fun ❤
Thanks for that amazing tour of SF, I really never had the urge to go there but now I know it's somewhere my husband and i need to visit, very informative and fun!
Wow that was cool. Thank you for taking us with you
Glad you enjoyed it!
It was great seeing this vlog….i have never been to San Francisco before, and it felt like you were taking us along with you…..I hope to go there someday with my husband, hope you enjoy the rest of your trip from your friend in Illinois.
I love that you value balancing out the heavy portion of your mission with some decompression and joy.🤗🤗 That's such a healthy practice.❤
and gravy looked delicious looked so yummy
Thank you for taking me back home. This was such a boost of happy for me! Also, loooooove your newest tattoo 🌊. Also also, just love you guys 💛. Missed Sherri’s beautiful face in this vlog, but loved the San Fran childhood nostalgia this video gave me. Thank you for always being a bright spot for so many.
Great video Adam! Thank you for the important work that you do. ❤ I love San Fran.
Thanks so much for watching :)
Great video I just went to Walt Disney museum two weeks ago. Can’t wait till you come back. I haven’t been to Alcatraz in years
Hi Adam, I’ve been watching Legg Life videos for about 2 years now. I’ve learned so much about cruising from your Legg Life YT channel. This recent video you made in San Francisco was excellent! I’m a resident of California but have a home in Nashville, TN. I’m a RN who came to CA on a Travel Nurse contract. I loved the unit I was working in and took a full time job. I still maintain my home in Nashville.
This video opened my eyes to the wonders of San Francisco. I’ve visited this city several times since moving to Sacramento. I’ve cruised out of the Port of San Francisco twice now. I just love Princess Cruises! And, I’ve really learned a lot about the company since Sherri has been working for them. This city tour was Excellent!!! I’m going to watch the video again and take notes so I can go back to San Francisco for a few days and do everything you did in the video. I can’t wait to see the video when you take Sherri there. Keep up the excellent work blogging.
You’re a natural. I love your videos on everyday life as well. And, I’m especially grateful for the work you do in human trafficking. I’m very knowledgeable about what has been happening in our world and it MUST STOP!!!!! Thank you again for your incredible work and your kind spirit ❤
This was such a fun video to watch--you hit a lot of our favorites! We haven't done the horn blower cruise though, one of my bucket list items is to cruise out of SF and sail out under the Golden Gate Bridge.
Next time I’m brining Sherri and we can all go experience this together!
Definitely need to go to Golden Gate Park and check out the California Academy of Sciences. It's planetarium, natural history museum, aquarium, rain forest with a living roof. It's a must see for SF. Also, I had to laugh a little when you called the Tenderloin "a little sketchy". It's pretty much the highest crime area in SF and is an absolute no-go after dark. Thank you for reminding me of the positive side of San Francisco. I live in Sacramento and we used to go to SF often for a day trip. Unfortunately, the last couple of years we hear nothing but negativity about SF and never venture there anymore. I might have to rethink that. Great vlog as always, thanks for the work you do!
Gosh, I walked right through the Tenderloin at night. Definitely wouldn't recommend it, but I lived to tell my story, HA!
Thank you Adam for sharing your day with you . What a beautiful place and so much to see . Stay safe
I’ll be in SF next month for the Bay to Breakers race…goes from the embarcadero to Ocean beach. Up Hayes Hill. I’m 74 and it will be my first race…actually, I’ll be walking it🦋. It’s a race, but more if a party! Runners dress up in everything including their Birthday Suits🙄
Just watched your video and I want to go back to San Francisco because of the way you described it. I want to see it with a new perspective.
San Fransisco is a fun place to explore, although I don't make it out there often. If you guys do a Bay Area meet and greet next time, though, I'm totally there as long as my schedule allows it! My dad is also a big Grateful Dead fan- he has all these Grateful Dead posters that he waited in line for back in the 60s that have hung on the walls in my childhood home for as long as I can remember! He's about the same age as your mom and grew up in the North Hollywood area.
I enjoyed everything you showed us. How amazing. Take care!
Thank you so much for watching!
Thanks so much for this tour!!! I had a great time watching! So entertaining and amazing especially since I've never been to San Francisco🤩🤩🤩💕
Glad you enjoyed this! Thanks for watching :)
Thank for the.tour on San Francisco there Family Members have visited there they have the best Sour dough bread Mom (RiP) has some one on of my visits I tried it Wow ! So good 😋 San Francisco lis so interesting can't wait to see your other vlogs stay safe Adam and Thanks for sharing 😊
The sourdough was deeelicious! Had it several times!
Haha I LOVE that you went to Haight Ashbury, that was a Mecca trip for me because I LOvE the Grateful Dead 💚 when you were on one of your last cruises the first trivia question was “which band was previously known as the Warlocks” and I was screaming through the tv for you to get it right 😆
There was no way I could go to San Francisco and not explore the Haight!
Just fabulous!!!
I certainly had a fabulous time!
Wow.. thank you for sharing this beautiful city .. love it
Thanks for watching!
Now I want to go. Thanks for sharing. Fun!
It really was a wonderful time!
I loved this tour!!❤
I'm so glad you did!
First off....thank you for the work that you do and the purpose that you came to San Francisco. Since I live hear, it was great to see so much of what I have done, and wow, some things I had heard about but never experienced yet such as the Musee Mechanic. Need to do that. As you started showing City Hall and the buildings around it, I got excited as you were close to where I actually live. Then you went to Ike's, and I can venture you probably walked down O'Farrell Street to get back to the Nikko, and walked right past my apartment building. And yes, there are a lot of issues to tackle in the tenderloin area. Anyway, glad you enjoyed your time in my beautiful city.
I did walk right down O'Farrell! I should have waved when I passed!
Thanks for the San Francisco hilights. I have a work trip in June and wrote down The House of Nanking and Smugglers Cove for the my group. We are staying close to Chinatown so I know we will be looking for some great food! I am also excited to see the sea lions on Pier 39!
Honestly, House of Nanking and Smugglers Cove are two things I HIGHLY recommend!
The night rock tour is the best
Yes! I’m so glad that is the one we decided to do!
Gosh that was fun going home with you. Lived just south of SF most of my life ❤
Hopefully I did your home justice! I really had a wonderful time.
So I have a list. You need to take a ferry over to Sausalito and you need to go to the Japanese tea Garden in the Golden Gate Park. And dim sum on Clement Street.
Love San Francisco
I really loved my time there!
Was alcatraz creepy at night I bet
I would say two things to check out: Muir Woods and Sausalito. Muir Woods has an absolutely beautiful Redwoods trail, we booked a tour to drive us out there and back. And Sausalito is the town across the Golden Gate Bridge. It’s really super cute and we had some great food there too 🙂
Both are absolutely on my list for future trips!
Hope you're safe there today.
No longer in San Francisco. Actually flying back to Alaska out of San Jose later today.
Where were the goats? We have them out here in Sunnyvale and I used to watch them at lunchtime. I worked in the building across the street. So now you and lovely Sherri will have to sail out of SF and go UNDER the Gold Gate to the Pacific.
This vlog was just San Francisco last week. The Goats happened yesterday in Sunnyvale, but I wasn't vlogging at the time :)
If you like historical ships stop by the maritime museum. Parts of the museum is free to enjoy. It’s just further down toward garidelli ice cream shop.
Muir woods, Lombard st
OMG I think I want to go to San Francisco 😂
HAHA I will elaborate here rather than on IG. I commented the other day on your IG so here is my crazy short layover and my only time in San Fran. We had about 3-4 hours total.
Landed and found a mailbox type place at airport to store our carry luggage.
Took BART out to waterfront area.
Came up near Chinatown. Wife did some trinket shopping while I found a dim sum place and grabbed a few buns etc
Took the cable car (not old historic one---too longa line) down to wharf
As I walked I grabbed a Boudin sourdough roll from a stand. Saw Alcatraz, saw bridge (barely) through the fog....
Walked til we saw Ghirardeli store up on the hill...walked up grabbed a sample square and walked back down stairs
immediately caught a cab and asked if he would drive us by Lombard street...he actuually took us up top and drove down...then he
SPEED LIKE CRAZY BACK TO BART.... We were literally bouncing over the hills as he narrated and dodged crossing traffic seemingly without looking as he kept looking back at us and talking...we got the train and made it back to airport with about 45 min to spare. haha
You could rent a mobile scooter…..
It looks like you had fun you need to come back with Sherri go to the Walt Disney family museum
Also you got robbed $40 for a boat ride BS all you could’ve done was taking the Golden Gate ferry for a lake I think round-trip like $20 and got an a much better view of the Golden Gate Bridge much better view. I am so sorry to tell you this football team does overrated I could take you to some much better sourdough places as a local it pains me to see you spend that much money at the tourist trap a.k.a. pier
San Francisco is the nastiest place I have ever been
Wow, really? There were some bad places, but we just avoided them and spent time in the areas we liked and that felt clean and safe.
Every city has bad areas .Just know to avoid
San Francisco was beautiful no longer safe due to the problems with protestors. It's a shame. You did make a beautiful video of the city.
