Not gonna lie, you are one of the sweetest reactors I’ve seen. And I have seen quite a few extremely sweet, genuine reactors. You would really enjoy their 90s Dance Medley.
There's a private performance of this, made in a quiet room, on someone's smartphone. Except for Kevin's beatboxing not sounding loud enough (I think he has several mics when they're in concert or making an official recording, for different body parts) it sounds perfect.
This was their first Grammy, for Best Arrangement Instrumental or A Cappella. Previously, that wasn't even a category; the academy had to add "or A Cappella" to "Best Arrangement Instrumental" in order to have a category they could even *nominate* Pentatonix for! Their second Grammy, for "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy," was in the same category. And as of 2023, Pentatonix is still the only a cappella band to have won any Grammys.
This is just SO good! This video was made for $400 in a closet, and won them their first Grammy. Thanks for doing this one! I’d recommend one of their “Evolution of” videos next. Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Ariana Grande…any of them are great and done live in one take!

The audio was recorded in a closet, for the good acoustics. The video was recorded at a kitchen table. Also, it's almost certain that each of them laid down their track separately (I doubt that they were all crowded into the closet together), and it *is* certain that their videos were recorded separately, since one of the things they bought with their $400 budget was a single ring light, and we see it behind each of them in the video.

Hi! Her name is Kirsten (or Kirsty, like thirsty)...lots of people mess it up at first, but we've got you! :) Second, their eyes aren't edits...it's actually contact lenses. If you look at Avi's eyes (the bassist), his poor eyes are so bloodshot. Kevin is wearing glasses because he didn't wear contacts at all. On another note, one of their main goals is to make sure that their studio versions stay very close to what they can perform live, so people aren't disappointed at their concerts. It might be interesting for you, instead of listening to the same song twice, as you've been doing, to instead listen to a studio version then go listen to a live version and compare just how well they still sound without the equipment tweaking the sound. Also, at some point, you need to go back to the beginning and view them competing in season 3 of The Sing Off! They won, of course. As an aside, Home Free and Voice Play competed in season 4...Home Free won that one. (from one Pentaholic to another)
Now watch the live version of daft punk. No microphones or anything other than then and someone wit camera phone at a green room somewhere. Proves it's their voices and no studio trickery like some think because they ARE that goof.
'Amazing Grace' next maybe? Or 'Love Again', which is another of their original songs. Both are phenomenal.

I had a great therapy session. My therapist actually said talking to me sometimes helps him unburden and relax. I’m my therapist’s therapist 🤣. It was a great session though. I was bragging about my son and his accomplishments a lot.
I actually got someone else’s pickup order at Walmart not too long ago. It had a vibrator and ky in it. My kid brings the bags in from the car. He side eyed me and handed me that bag. I busted out laughing. I had to show them my order history to prove it wasn’t mine. I said if I were ordering stuff like that, I’d get it from Amazon. More discreet packaging.
But that’s also stuff they won’t do exchanging or taking back for…so mama got a free vibrator and ky 🤣.

Pentatonix loves the song, and they love Queen, so they always wanted to cover "Bohemian Rhapsody," but they were afraid that they'd botch it, so they decided to wait until they thought they were ready. That took them five years, but it was worth the wait; they were *definitely* ready.
One warning, though. There's a megaphone in the video, and people think it has something to do with Mitch's vocals. It doesn't. It was turned off. Mitch just thought it would make a good prop and it's been confusing people ever since.

The eyes are done with cheap costume contacts. They didn't have the $ at the time to get special effects added. Kevin couldn't stand them & that's why they went with the glasses on him.
