How to Transfer Your Pattern onto Freezer Paper

This five-minute video tutorial by Rebecca of Bryan House Quilts demonstrates two ways to transfer a quilt pattern onto freezer paper. These two options include drawing the pattern onto a roll of freezer paper or printing it from a digital copy onto a pre-printed freezer paper sheet. Once the foundation is on the freezer paper, Rebecca explains how to add seam allowances, if desired. Once you're done, the foundation is ready to be cut out and used for freezer paper piecing.

I made the wife a 'light box', empty wine carton, plexiglass large enough to cover top & stay, small lamp. Plact lamp inside box, cut hole for cord, plug it in, lay pattern on top of plexiglass and freezer paper on top of pattern. Use ruler to keep lines straight. A little more prep work, useful when a printer is not in the picture. Put on some music and enjoy the process, she does

I made a small quilt using one of your triangles but don't know how to make the sides straight after sewing the traingle rows together. I am hoping you get this message and I can get the help I need. Thanks I haven't been quilting using pattern very long it's totally knew to me.

Does any printer work or should you use an ink-jet, bubble-jet printer? How will the plastic react to the heat in a laser printer?

Yep! You don't want to use a laser printer... the ink will transfer to the fabric.

@@RebeccaBryan so ink-jet printer is the one to use. I also think that the plastic will melt in a laser printer and clog it. But maybe that is only my imagination making tricks 🙃
