It feels like this series has been edited down way more than couple more recent ones. It's pretty evident from the final product that a lot has been cut.

Greg has made jokes a couple of times in episodes along the lines of "stop pretending you're controlling things from your iPad". I've always assumed it was just for show.

Honestly, who didn’t fall in love with Nick within 5 seconds of seeing him? He’s a very good actor because I genuinely disliked him as Nate (Ted Lasso) and then saw him as himself and I’ve never been the same ever since 🤣
I empathize with Greg and John. I assumed that the iPad was really used in the first couple seasons when there was a bit of a scrappier feel, but I thought they'd replaced it with a different method and Alex was just keeping it up for show at this point. Makes me wonder about the intricacies of how the system really works.
They probably just use a generic shared desk app, with a screen in the box so the studio controllers can see his notes. Or, he is actually controlling the whole thing from his ipad. Which VT to queue up, pulling clips and edits, e5c.

It bodes well that we're only a couple of eps into the series and there's already a compilation of outtakes. By the end, we should be up to at least Part 5 or 6. Greg and Nick need some type of show/vodcast. Their vibe, energy and on-screen chemistry is so organic and keeps you engaged in even the most mundane topics. Like watching 2 buddies just hanging out. And they're so funny!! Would happily watch them just chilling and talking for hours!

Didn't Greg actually make fun of Alex for pretending to do things on his iPad on multiple occasions? And in most shows it absolutely would be a prop he was using with someone backstage doing everything, but Alex is the one actually in charge of the show so leaving control with him makes sense.

I wonder how much extra work it would be for the production team to do Taskmaster XL edits. TH-cam doesn't have the time constraints of a broadcast slot and there's definitely an audience for it 😃
I wish they'd release the uncut episodes, even if 3-4 hours from Greg and Alex talking to the audience to everyone leaving the set, would watch every second.
@@shikarifox4337 The thing is, as far as I understand an episode is putting together footage from all the different cameras and the VTs. If that's the case then it's not so much having uncut episodes, as stuff that wasn't put into the episode when putting it together for transmission. To have the full footage recorded om the night you'd either have it from only one camera, or have to split screen it. There are at least 4 cameras just for the studio bits with everyone in their chairs, judging by the angles and shots we get in the show.
@@musical3lottie the way whose line is it anyway US did it was by using the main stage/wide camera as the default and only doing a minimal amount of editing. IE for the Greg and audience bit it'd just stay on that camera the whole interaction since they were already swapped to that camera. But in scenarios where they normally go back and forth, they just don't edit it down and it stays on the wide stage camera.
I did not expect to feel a weird sense of body positivety from this episode lol. I'm also a five foot four man with size 7 feet, and my whole adulthood I've felt like I've had out of proportion, small feet. It's cool to know my feet are as proportionate to my body as Nick's are to his lol.

I had my doubts about the iPad early on, but there were some math being done by Alex in like series 2 or 3 that made me sure he was pulling the string in real time :D Amazing software interface to show up on the big screen. I wonder about the app he uses! :D some day... Alex will post a photo of it. Let's just wait....
To be fair - someone backstage entering the scores and then showing them on screen might be more efficient, since Alex would be able to engage more in the conversations without worrying about entering correct things in. The tablet is more useful for reading info about timed tasks etc, which should not be on the teleprompter as not to spoil the surprise. Next they tell us that Alex is actually prompting the clips, especially when Greg wants to see a bit again.
I was in college when they filmed the stadium scenes at County Stadium. It was easy to identify with Cleveland when the Brewers had been, uh, underperforming for so long. Made us feel part of it.
Finding out that Sophie is the youngest of this group has broken my brain slightly. It gave me a flashback to when I found out Paul Chowdhry is just 3 years younger than Dave Gorman
I would love the Taskmaster Channel to do what they did for Series 13. The full outtakes for S13 run longer than a normal episode and really should be broadcast. It's the best episode our of all of them!
Is every single moment of this show going to be this hilarious? They should just broadcast from the moment the guests arrive to when the last crewmember leaves.
He has sworn plenty before, when quoting someone else's words (like he was there too). Only once has he been shown actually swearing himself though (I think it was Munya's task to do the best catch - he made Alex throw a ball over the house and they had to do it tens of times to the point Alex's arms were hurting, IIRC).
I wouldn't mind a full episode of Greg sarcastically interviewing random audience members

omg i have just realised that "outtakes" are pieces that were cut out from the TV version! so much goodness yet to watch!
To be fair - someone backstage entering the scores and then showing them on screen might be more efficient, since Alex would be able to engage more in the conversations without worrying about entering correct things in. The tablet is more useful for reading info about timed tasks etc, which should not be on the teleprompter as not to spoil the surprise.
Next they tell us that Alex is actually prompting the clips, especially when Greg wants to see a bit again.

I was in college when they filmed the stadium scenes at County Stadium. It was easy to identify with Cleveland when the Brewers had been, uh, underperforming for so long. Made us feel part of it.

I would love the Taskmaster Channel to do what they did for Series 13. The full outtakes for S13 run longer than a normal episode and really should be broadcast. It's the best episode our of all of them!

I think this is only the second time I’ve ever heard Alex swear!
He has sworn plenty before, when quoting someone else's words (like he was there too). Only once has he been shown actually swearing himself though (I think it was Munya's task to do the best catch - he made Alex throw a ball over the house and they had to do it tens of times to the point Alex's arms were hurting, IIRC).
Actually brilliant to do a little audience interviews pre-show like Colbert does :)
