I feel so validated listening to this because while I never had the words to explain it I’ve struggled with handling overstimulation at gatherings especially in such a large family, I would get very ill and snap easily but because I could never express it my family always kinda saw it as me just being antisocial or having an attitude. I was never fortunate enough to have space for a hiding place other than just my room but I always craved one in the closet even now I still do.
