  • For the first weekend of fall 2023 we made our second annual trip into Craig Lake State Park. This year, rather than gamble with the weather, we booked one of the park's rustic yurts long in advance. The weather was actually perfect, and although the fishing wasn't great, it was a weekend well-spent in a special place.

I’ve only caught/ observed small perch in teddy. Strange lake for sure, but definitely beautiful!

My wife and camped on the island many years ago, hopefully it’s still desolate and filled with loons. It was the first adventure with our new kevlar canoe.

Unfortunately I think that ship has sailed. The main parking lot was full during this trip. The entrance road has been improved a lot too. More visitors is a double-edged sword.

Definitely could have been worse! It gave me a scare but it stopped bleeding pretty quickly and has been fine since.
