    Unluckily it doesn't have a magnetic door
    sensor by which the gimdow can know the state of the door,
    shut or open. If a buy a common smart door magnetic door sensor can it be linked to the machine?
    What if the door is not fully shut and someone accidentally operates by smart key the locking on? The vertical deadbolts will come out till hitting frame and floor. Will the engine understand the resistance and go to stop ?

      We no longer have this lock installed so we can not test. Usually these type of locks stop if they encounter a lot of resistance like the door jamb, but not sure what this lock in particular would do. As for the magnet, you would need to ask Gimdow.

    Great review, covered everything (except Google Home integration but it looks simple enough), now to find the cheapest place to purchase. Thanks! 😁😁

    Does this let you set schedules? so the door would be unlocked during specified hours and days?

    • @Appmyhome
      @Appmyhome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      there seems to be the ability to set a schedule to unlock or lock the door. have not tested this however.

    Would you know if a Google Home Hub (with bluetooth) can be used instead of the gateway?

    My only question is!!!!how long does the battery holds with average usage?and what u do when they die while u r at work e.t.c...and nobody can open ur door from the inside!!?

    • @Appmyhome
      @Appmyhome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      we use the lock on a side door so it doesn't get used as much as the front door. Batteries have been lasting more than 6 months. If the batteries die, unless you have a key you can't unlock from the outside. remember this lock sits over your existing deadbolt, so as long is you have the key for your deadbolt you are fine. And if the batteries die you can still unlock from the inside as it has a turn knob that always works.

    Precise and simple tutorial. Thanks. I have version A1 and the Smartlife app does not automatically find it. Even when I try to add it manually it does not find it. Does it only work with the Smartlife app through WiFi and the gateway? I got the impression from your video that Smartlife found the device through Bluetooth…

    • @Appmyhome
      @Appmyhome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ours does work fine via bluetooth without the bridge but you have to be in range and using their app. I don't recall having to do anything special to make it work.

    • @Christian-kb7dp
      @Christian-kb7dp 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Done some digging. A1 is version one of the Gimdow smartlock. The chip in this version does not support Smartlife (aka Tuya) and can only be operated through Gimdow’s own app and cannot be connected to a Bluetooth-WiFi gateway. In other words it only works if your mobile is in Bluetooth range or if you use the keypad. You probably have the A3 version which is Smartlife/Tuya compatible.

      Imagine you are correct since we do have he BLE bridge working.

    Obviously it still unlocks with my house keys ? I don't need the keypad if I've house keys

    • @Appmyhome
      @Appmyhome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      correct the keypad isn’t needed IF you have your keys as the outside of the lock is not removed or covered. however, if you don’t have your keys the outside keypad is very handy. we have this on our side door so when I’m working in the yard and need something I can let myself in.

    Hi. How do I make the knob turn until its unlock? Because the knob only turns halfway without opening the lock. I try to calibrate but nothing's happening. The knob still turn halfway either locking or unlocking.

      hi Ezad. are you saying the bolt lock you have requires more than a half turn to open?

    • @Appmyhome

      the lock and keypad are Bluetooth. the bridge connects them to WiFi and therefore your echo.

    No longer works with Google Home...

    • @Appmyhome
      @Appmyhome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      are you using the smart life app? there is a place there to connect to google home. it is also where you connect to alexa (which we have done and it works). look in the tab called “me” and at the top is a list of third party integrations. google home is listed.

  • @MichelSaade
    @MichelSaade 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Too bad it doesn't integrate well with Home Assistant

    • @Appmyhome
      @Appmyhome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      the bigger question is when will they actually release the final version. Maybe that will be able to integrate with HA.

    • @MichelSaade
      @MichelSaade 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Appmyhome what do you mean by release the final version ? If you integrate it with the Tuya app, all functions are available. Which ones are missing for you ?
      I think it's going to take a while before they integrate it with HA
