These sessions with pros are just freaking fabulous. It's really cool to learn about LUNA but seeing how human these folks are - they are creative thinkers who have found so many cool ways to make music. It's been incredibly inspiring. The rear view mirror trick? Just so cool. Thank you.
In the 80's and 90's, Mutt Lange was my dream producer. I know it's cliche to say, but I just happened to be into everything he was doing at the time.. Since 1999 on, Butch has been my hero as far as producers go.
Butch is great. He sold me on Luna during an Andrew Masters tour. Really happy to see his template and walkthrough. Can we get the plugin chain window back?? @1:45:45. My jaw dropped when I saw that, what a feature.
Take a cable from headphones 2 and go to Input 1/2 and Route the output of Channel 1/2 to a "dead output". Then you don't need any suspicious drivers. The streaming routing easily goes back to input 1/2 with a cable from the headphone output.
I tried to watch this on 2 separate occasions and I just can't do it with the annoying delay on the hosts voice. Such a bummer because I bet Butch is great. Ah well.
40 Sharc dsps = 240 Uad plugins at 48Khz (6 for each dsp) with "almost" zero latency, the bottleneck is on the Mac Mini pci bus. At 96 Khz you can use 2 plugins for each dsp. Butch Walker needs a Mac Pro 7.1 because six TB3 devices saturate the pci bus. The 3 Apollos probably are daisy chained, this isn't a good idea, they share 1 pci bus at 2X in one TB3 port. Regarding the Mac Pro 7.1 3 Uad-2 Octo pci-e cards use a 4X full bandwidth pci bus = real zero latency, also Butch Walker can plug each Apollo on a different TB3 port because the Mac Pro cpu (Xeon) has 64 pci lanes.
@@TadDoylemusic he is specifically advising Butch, based on what Butch has shown us. Depending upon which source you choose to believe, Butch is worth 75 million dollars. He can afford to drop a little bit of coin for the tools he uses to make his living.
@Butch Walker lol. Like I said, "depending upon which source you believe". My source is all the people in my head and we want to believe it so that makes it true! Go check your bank account again!
Luna seems to have bricked my Apollo Twin MKII. :( I've been working with the support crew at Universal Audio for the last week. And, though they have been responsive, and I've followed the many directions to a "t" (and yes, all my cables are tested on other gear and all my udpates are the most recent versions and all the stuff), I still haven't been able to get my computer (or any other computer) to recognize my Apollo Twin MKII. I'm behind on several projects because of it... So... if you have mission-critical work that makes you money - be careful before installing Luna.
Hi Joel, sorry to hear this. Glad support is working closely with you. Hopefully you'll find a solution, this is certainly not a widely experienced issue.
@@UniversalAudio Thanks for the response. Apologies that my concerns are coming out in a public space... but I'm socially isolated alone with my projects and no way to properly record them without buying a new Apollo (because... truth is... I would never buy anything else...ever again). I honestly just want it to work. It's been core to my setup for the last 3 years now :(

Buy LUNA and you too can have distorted alien sounds.

A lot of chatter - little music is it normal for a music podcast?
