Natural curls in the 80s? Where? I was actually there. 😄 The only curls you saw back then were straight hair girls who had perms or very loose curls. Unfortunately, real curly girls were roller setting, relaxing and blowing out those curls. Especially in Latin communities of which I was a part. "Curly hair products" didn't even exist yet other than Jhery Curl type products. The few curlies that wore natural hair loaded it up with gel and had crunchy "Ramen noodle" curls.
