I agree with the last comment.. a PRO definently makes it look easy an effortless.. Its always awesome to watch someone who knows how to do something like this with such ease.
Done that for 39 yrs.All about the rhythm but they're guys that just stand above all others.This guy and my dad.No matter how hard I try.Im good for 400 plus on a good day.My dad and HIS laborer did complete 1200 block foundations.One guy laying block one guy moving and mixing..

I mean every now and again you'll miss something simple but nothing major, I didn't claim to be the best at my trade as you did and I'm curious you said masonry is a dying trade but 90 of everything I work on is brick, stone, block etc!!! They don't build much outta block where you are???

Lo q es no saber tira mucha mezcla la q brota por los bordes cuando pones un tabique no se tira se recoge aparte a ese ritmo no te trabaja todo el día obvio y si lo hiciera al otro día ya no se presenta
Looks awesome. But I know that not only the high qualification is the key for such fast work but a very good cement mixture with some unknown for me additives. Because I know that in summer hot weather even one regular clay brick will not be properly placed with usual cement- sand mixture.
For those commenting about waste of mortar on floor...it is perfectly normal since it should always be considered atleast 10-15% waste in mortar in the material estimate and blocks wastage is around 5% waste...so yes it is perfectly NORMAL...
How many rows of block that could be laid in a day. I was taught you really shouldn't put over 5 course in a day because the weight could affect the mortars curing and bonding process where they can start to dip down

Hard to tell from the angle just how well the block are being laid. He has a good pace. I learned the set up a bit differently. We like to stand the block up on their ears and mud the head joints all at one time. Been at it 30+ years now. Lay mostly brick these days.

BS a craftsman cuts the mortar from the bed joint from block just laid and uses it to butter the head joint for the next block.
You gotta be really strong to handle those 8’s like there toys, I can’t wait till spring so I can try this technique out.

Try 12s that are split face corners and tell me these smooth 8s are heavy
Not that they’re incredibly heavy, but to just one-hand them and twist/tilt them with one wrist, that man definitely has some solid wrist strength.
