Does Burning Barbershop have similar performance issues? Do you like it better than Bowmakers? And where does Amber Kiso fit in , in your opinion? Thanks for the video!
@@maistvanjr1 Burning Barbershop and Amber Kiso have both excellent performance, especially the latter. Amber Kiso is one of my favorite fragrances ever, it’s 10/10 amazing, so deep and complex, it has a strong woody component but nothing like Bowmakers with its hyper realistic portrayal.
@SeldomlyOften nice. I have tried Mississippi Medicine (the woodshop on fire) and I feel the negatives (and positives) you mentioned here apply there as well.
great review. I have not tried bowmakers Never clicked with the brand myself, scent profiles are interesting in general, but unfortunately, performance is good enough for my taste. Except ambre kisso ofc
@@Principemostprincipe yes, performance is not that great (Amber Kiso and Burning Barbershop are exceptions) but I don’t think these are meant to be all day scents anyway.
@@SeldomlyOften i agree with you. I wanna get incense based fragrance, but not gourmand. Maybe woody or leathery backbone with great performance. Do you have any suggestion?
Huge fan of DS & Durga and of Bowmakers! So far I only bought Amber Kiso but I have a long wishlist from them. Totally agree with your review, I just wish the price was a little more affordable. That said I was happier spending with them given their (previous) Indie status than of some of the more mainstream brands. If you find yourself in New York definitely visit the store, I had such a relaxing experience in there when I visited, in stark contrast to a lot of perfume stores.
@@SeldomlyOftenI love this fragrance, I got a sample from friend from LA and love the mahogany and how is photorealistic scent of a luthier and his violin making craftsman
@@SeldomlyOften Amber Kiso is like unfinished Grand Soir for me, Amber Teutonic is beautiful and it is discontinued, Leatherize for me is like beef jerky or burning barbecue or trying to stop fire stomping with cowboy boots, Debaser is beautiful too, Grapefruit Generation zesty woody citrus and Italian Citrus is barbershop citrus cologne, good longevity
@ I’m assuming he means that the fragrance is subtle and blends in with your skin chemistry, enhancing it with a light musk. Sort of like a “molecular” fragrance.

Great video. Never thought of beach hut woman. Just ordered honor 43, I fear it will be too feminine but I got it at such a great price I can sell it and make back my money. Have you smelt this one? Might look into a sample of beach hut woman. Definitely will get a discovery set from DS Durga
@@Dongorgon777 I think Beach Hut Woman is discontinued but it’s still totally worth a sample. I have never smelled Honor 43, just the regular Woman, it’s beautiful but it’s pretty feminine, even for me.
@ Going on your review I'd highly recommend it. Very photorealistic representation of its name. Big fan of Ellen Covey's work would love to see a review.

They actually have a few new releases that I wouldn't mind trying. The Most Festive Cologne of all Time among them. Still waiting for the industry's return to pinenes; although my hopes aren't high. 🌲 Of course, things certainly do eventually circle around....but I just hope I'm not dead by then. 😂
@@justaddlight that one sounds really cool, I want to try it too. Keep your hopes up and, in the mean time, enjoy the beautiful options out there (and recommend some 😂).

Big sur eucalyptus is incredible as well. Its not challenging at all but exactly representative of the inspiration.
@@rherbm that actually sounds amazing, going to try that one soon 😎

How does it compare to Olympic Orchids Woodcut?
Never tried that one at all, the most direct comparisons I have are Arso by Profumum Roma and the referenced Bois Marocain by Tom Ford

This one is definetly one of the best wood scents around, but yes, it lasts like 30 minutes on me.
@@kingerfd3341 it’s really a pity, the ultimate long lasting layer combo is Arso on the bottom and Bowmakers on top 😜
