@@hindenburg2006 If I may be so bold, my newest discovery: find something you hate and declare a personal war against is the other 50% of the equation no one seems to talk about. Being angry, in pain and full if hate is both natural, normal, empowering and very realistic. Just seeking the positives in your quest for work, relations or meaning almost becomes a weak, hedonistic pleasure seeking with less potency and no real "wind in the sails" to it.
Embrace the sith in you and you'll have a *MUCH* easier time in your quest to live a good life in regards to your values

I'm absolutely blown away. I have been struggling to "find myself" or the values that define me for probably a year now with what I thought was success. However, this video has really dug right to the core and got into exactly what my values are and I was miles off. Thank you so so much for this amazingly helpful video.

For example: 1.What do you spend your time on: Motivational videos, cooking etc.. 2.What energises you: eating/cooking, watching motivational videos. Whats my 'value' here? i do not get this. Ok how I got my answers, was I answered the 13 questions. I gave three answers for each question. Then I counted the word that was constantly repeated as my highest value. For example I noticed you already have cooking already in your two questions. It appears you love creating great tastes for the world to experience. My thoughts

Thank you for your presentation. I find thinking about my core values extremely difficult to do, I really do struggle at times. To explain and describe my true self feels like doing a very difficult exam because most of my life I’ve thought and done things for everyone else, so I’ve never thought about myself like this. However, after listening to your brilliant presentation, things are now starting to jump out at me, things that inspire me and what I am passionate about. I haven’t completed the exercise yet but I’m sharing with you that these positive thoughts leaping out at me is a good start and it’s got me thinking more. So thank you Dr Demartini😊🙏🏼

What a wonderful list! This is the most actionable instruction I've come across about revealing what my values are as I am living them right now. Below are the 13 questions slightly reworded as I understood them.
    1. What do I fill my space with?
    - The close space around me
    - 3 high priority items that are around me
    2. How do I spend my time?
    3. What energizes me?
    4. What do I spend my money on?
    5. Where am I most organized and ordered?
    6. Where am I most disciplined and reliable?
    7. What do I most often think about?
    8. What do I most often visualize?
    9. What do I most often have an internal dialogue about?
    10. What do I want to converse about with others?
    11. What inspires me and what is consistent with the people who inspire me?
    - What brings tears to my eyes? Write down what was in my mind when the tears came to my eyes
    12. What are the 3 most consistent goals I have?
    13. What do I love to learn about?

Value determinants-what a great lesson. It seems to be easier to see someone else's highest values rather than one's own. Taking on what one has been trained to be personal core values, is a reality. As a black person on top of it all, one does not feel like one even has the right to powerfully and freely choose the 'loves for' rather than the 'ought to's".

Very erudite and forensic clip showing us EXACTLY how discover discover what our true values are. Brutal honesty is required, especially for dreamers like me...The clincher was what fires the reticular cortex. I came across some brain structures when non expertly looking into the twinned sttuctures of Thalami and Amydullas. I have found it super useful to put order and to clarify my life. I was struggling in accepting what I love the most and I was judging myself without realizing it was an imposed voice and command. Thank you so much! I've watched or read several other core value things that just gave a list and said "select the 5 words that resonate with you most" and that left me in such an internal struggle. I've been struggling for days, pouring over core values lists, constantly battling with the divide between what I think I should choose as my highest values (because they're valued by society) and what truly engages and fills me with meaning. This video and list of questions helps me feel validated by reminding me that the things I truly value energize me and move me into action. When I just focus on "supposed to" values, with no connection to my authentic values, I feel drained, unmotivated, and aimless. I love what you said at the end about loving what you do through linking too! This video has been so valuable!

Dr. DeMartini, will you further extrapolate on the practical use of these exercises? The 11:32 - 12:30 mark feels like is rushed through and to me it's the gold...please help me understand the benefits of what this entire video is about...how do I take the results and make best use of what you brought awareness to in your view?
I've been aware of my values for a long time (in part thanks to your book)...are you encouraging us to change or adjust our behavior in some way once having this knowledge? I mean...if our values are what we do...then they are we do and surround ourselves by....and....so what? Now what?
Maybe you mention in your book, it's been a while since I've listened to it on Audible. I will go research now.

Ah ha! It's in Chapter 6 of the Values Factor. Might be good at the end of your video to direct folks there for more in depth practicality if not mentioning it on video. :)

This is a great video - thank you! I am intrigued about extrapolating ones values from a person talents when doing the Clifton Strengths Finder. Strengths (according to Gallup) can be defined as ones natural way of thinking, feeling and behaving. So it’s comes naturally to you - you are already doing it unconsciously. My talents are learning, responsibility, input, futuristic and intellection. Extrapolating my values from this will be learning, ownership, sharing, innovation, wisdom. I see evidence of these talents on a daily basis and it’s underpinned by these values.
