Thanks for the question! Here're some suggestions from one of our ambassadors and the NAU team: A. it is really up to personal preference/budget on what a student should bring. I typically suggest something that is easy to carry around in a backpack. A lot of students have MacBooks but I personally can't afford that so I bought an ASUS laptop that gets the job done. I also recommend students reach out to their academic department because some majors may benefit from having specific devices. B. Some more specifics: as long as you don't need the laptop for editing a lot of 4K videos, a 13” Dell XPS is a great option. It’ll be fine for working on papers and surfing the web in general. It also has great battery life and is under 3 lbs, so it's convenient to carry it all day with you. You can save money and buy one from a year or two ago and be set up well. Starts at around $900 for the previous year model. You could also get a Dell Latitude for a few hundred bucks less. Display won’t look as nice, not as powerful (might not be noticeable if they’re just surfing the web), and heavier. Alternatively, you could get a 10.2” iPad for $329 and get a bluetooth keyboard and case. Hope these help give you some ideas. See you in August!
What laptop would you recommend incoming students?
