I was originally shadowbanned on the official Amico subreddit because I had suggested that they should have Tommy doing a demo of Farkle showing the controller working with the dice rolling from the controller onto the tv. 12:18 This whole comment perfectly sums up everything wrong with nostalgia. People can be so blinded by it that they fail to do basic research (in this investor's case, not realizing that this isn't the same Intellivision as the one they knew), all in an attempt to reclaim their sugar-coated past. Naturally, these people then get taken for a ride by nostalgia baiting scams like this one.
There's an entire genre of TH-cam that just covers scammers and Spencer Cornelia covered one that the Amico reminds me of. There was one 'business' that said they were making revolutionary software, which was supposed to be a 'better' version of zoom, an internet browser, email client, and things like that. But the whole idea is that you invest money, and they promised insane income from you selling their software. But there was never any software. I can't remember what the name of it was. They kept trying to host video conferences to keep people strung along, and it was always "Just around the corner" and every update email was the company asking investors to put in more money and encourage their friends to do the same. But for years, there was never any software at all. Haven't seen an update in about a year, so I'm not sure what the story is now.
There's an even better case study to look at that operated in the same market as the Amico - The ZX Spectrum Vega+ handheld. The early story is a little different as RCL - the company behind it - successfully released the Vega, a plug and play Spectrum console. RCL started funding for the Vega+, got it, but then the company was infiltrated by bad actors who managed to force out the previous directors and set about syphoning off the £500,000 that was raised. That's when the Amico parallels start. Constant lies, constant missed deadlines, constant nonsense excuses, over-promising and not delivering, initially granting some refunds before ignoring subsequent requests etc. In the end they cobbled together a few hundred (so they claimed, probably less) units by hand that were unfinished, riddled with faults, missing all the games that were supposed to be pre-loaded and shipped them out to a few random backers...just to say they tried to fulfil their end, but ran out of money etc. I think a few prototype/development Amico's will get sent out to their little band of idiot shills, just to say they tried, then they'll blame the "haters" for it all collapsing.

I don't feel too bad. Considering the graveyard of failed consoles in the video game industry, it should be no secret that getting a console off the ground is a long shot if you're not a mega company. That's like when Atari was crowd funding their new VCS, I didn't think it was a scam (despite delays, they were at least showing that work was being done) but at the same time, I thought people were nuts preordering it.
To what the announcement says the pilot run should be complete in a few weeks, so by the second week of October they should be able to speak on that achievement deadline. It has to do with the fact that the plant is technically 'hemp', but it's resin infused somehow on the buds... I'm not against D8, but it is kind of confusing (especially when I can smoke herb)
Not sure how cannabis is legalized when D8 can't. D8 seems to have less intense effects than regular THC, although technically it is just an isomer of THC and differs only in a chemical bond. Chemistry is wild.
If you're smoking cbd expecting to get high then that guy up there is right there is a lot to learn... I found d8 to be a good alternative to flower. I'm picky. I know certain strains will trigger anxiety and panic in me. Illegal here and no one here ever knows what they have. I'm just told ITS DAT GAS BRUH. D8, for me anyway, is the perfect in between. But I'm also mixing it with prescription medications and stuff sooo results may vary.

Plug-n-plays are a dime for a dozen. It should have been software publishing with an eventual bid into hardware, but Tallarico put the brake van ahead of the train and went full steam.
@@XanthinZarda 2019 was still a relatively popular time for Mini consoles (the MD/Gen Mini 1 was released) and a Mini console would be allot simpler to produce compared to the Amico. Possibly even something they license out as opposed to making themselves. I might have even bought one if it was decently made, since I have a soft spot for these things, as opposed to the Amico which I hesitant about even back when there was hope for it. My thoughts were they planned on releasing to retail and hoping people bought their console on impulse or name alone, kind of how gaming worked pre internet days where games could be gems or duds.
80s? Not so much. In the 70s? Heck yeah. There were so many fly by night pong consoles and clones built off the backs of shoddy prototyping and production grades.
haha there were a lot of scams back then. .com bust was like 90% as stupid shit as amico. though even then you'd mostly buy real shares, and not loan money with extremely weird conditions to the company like with fig etc.
I’m trying to remember the one console scam in the 2000s or 2010s. I seem to recall it making a lot of money of investors thinking it would be actual console.
Whoever thumbed up me tell me which console I’m thinking of. All I can remember is it was before Ouya (if I remember correctly Ouya got compared to this until they actually showed games off). I believe the big moment was there was suppose to show off the console and it was just a plastic box (as in people there realized there was no electrical connectors to the box).
You know, there's only one other cult I'm interested in at this time, and Cult of the Lamb actually exists. Speaking of cults, how did "10,000 units sold though" pass any scrutiny by any three letter org? Oh, and they still need to send 100 units to Fig/Republic. Contractually.
Tommy I'll invest in the Intellivison Amico. I'll offer you a sandwich that was half eaten by my dog for 100% of the company. I'd urge you to take that deal. Because in all honesty your company isn't even worth that. Lol.
I wonder if Nintendo is OK being associated with drugs in those commercial... I know THC drugs are legal in some states but this is an international broadcast....

They have definitely run out of money if they’re letting the devs release the games on other platforms. So forget about revenue sharing, this is how the devs are getting paid.
$100 would be a disaster for me. Although one could argue $100 for an addict where the pandemic didn't do any wonders isn't the worst thing that could have happened.
The problem was they turned off the comments so even if investors wanted to ask these questions they were kind of stuck I mean they can't ask them because comments were closed
Didn't the Republic Amico says that their return shares will be return by 2021 or 22 with the quote and quote *physical games* will be invested. I think not. Its RFID which is digital games which is not physical like they promised. The Republic says that you money will be getting in 2021 hah school you. You lose good day sir.
What is sad is you still have guys like DJC trying to shill for them. I thnk they are gonna hand make like 50 of them and then say we tried and call it a day. This system is never ever gonna get a full release. What a train wreck.

@@TNTITAN PHANTOM ? ?
Has anybody actually spoken with any of the original Blue Sky Rangers to get their thoughts on this $cam?
You know, there's only one other cult I'm interested in at this time, and Cult of the Lamb actually exists.
Speaking of cults, how did "10,000 units sold though" pass any scrutiny by any three letter org?
Oh, and they still need to send 100 units to Fig/Republic. Contractually.
The comments were great. I bet Tommy will get wind and retaliate
I don't think he will show his face for awhile still.
@@Cueya I agree. He's going to wait it out in his playhouse with his 5th Element lovedoll.
This is kinda like investing money with the mob. If something happens who do you complain to???
...The IRS, if I recall. What better way to pierce the veil than taxation issues?
Tommy I'll invest in the Intellivison Amico. I'll offer you a sandwich that was half eaten by my dog for 100% of the company. I'd urge you to take that deal. Because in all honesty your company isn't even worth that. Lol.
Who is zadok payit I can't find his TH-cam channel
Could Steven hoping to get his complimentary console at around 10:27 be Steven Tyler? Steven -- dream on!
Great podcast guys. BTW, the Delta 8 rocks. Figure they gonna ban it soon. sigh....
Winners dont do drugs ...
@@NuclearSavety 🤡
I wonder if Nintendo is OK being associated with drugs in those commercial... I know THC drugs are legal in some states but this is an international broadcast....
It's completely legal in Canada
Nintendo wasn't in the ad, dude
So strange that in 2022, the commercial here is for a product that is fully ILLEGAL in my country the United Kingdom. Our "special relationship" seems to only go so far 😆
check terpenes uk.. terpenes != thc, they don't do much anything. federally legal implies it doesn't get you high-high or have thc.
Going by the amount of baggies I find in the local playground I think nobody is taking a blind bit of notice in the UK
It's still illegal here in Aus as well
Oh snap pat and Ian flippin that delta
The fastest way to see a Amico is to use delta 8.
I have been missing so much of these podcasts.
The news behind the scenes of Tommy and Doug failing this hard feels so damn good. lol
Haven't even started the vid yet and all I want to say is
Lol
Lmao even
These in-video ads somehow keep getting worse. Here I thought Manscaped was the worst.
You want them gone? Get rid of Susan.
I'm more curious will all amico exclusive games get adandoned or not, because some games looked promising as a nice little retro game
The ones that actually exist will be smart and abandon ship. Other games never existed.
@@XanthinZarda so were they a scripted rendered video ? It does make more sense in that case, considering the console is basically a scam.
Look guys, if I order Earthy Select I’m gonna get baked and then I’ll eat through my entire supply of Munk bars! Is that what you want?
Please get help
@@JamesChessman please grow up
We need some CU podcast shrooms next ✌️😆
love you guys
Whoa, whoa! I did not write any of those things! Someone is acting like me. I thought Tommy T would put out some crap machine that ran worse than the Adam and the IBM PC Jr combined. That was BEST CASE SCENARIO to me.
What even is Amico?
...and you don't get a console ...and you don't get a console ...and you don't get a console
Don’t take with you if you’re visiting Russia.
Did u think they'd be happy, miracle it took this long....amiGO and take your money .....legally I think you can sell the shares because the product didn't launch....weed ads guys wowza
Great ad. Glad they support you.
“SAVE SOME OF THAT FOR THE SEQUEL!” Lol. I love that Brisk commercial.
Earthy selects products are very easy to use while driving which is why I love them.
Sending Buffalove from Cheektowaga, NY to Ian. Or should I say Cheektovegas?
is ian from buffalo?
@@joshallen128 is this really Josh Allen? We'll never know. 😂
So lazy that Phil forgot to number his points correctly lol. It's clear that he didn't care and just posted the copy and paste update lol
They have definitely run out of money if they’re letting the devs release the games on other platforms. So forget about revenue sharing, this is how the devs are getting paid.
Ryan invested 5000.
Amico. The gift that keeps on giving.
"Intellivision Amico Investors Upset" That's not a headline, that's the name of the newspaper.
Earthyselect seems sketchy af
$100 would be a disaster for me. Although one could argue $100 for an addict where the pandemic didn't do any wonders isn't the worst thing that could have happened.
The problem was they turned off the comments so even if investors wanted to ask these questions they were kind of stuck I mean they can't ask them because comments were closed
I mean even the Queen gave up after 96 years.
I truly enjoyed this saga.
Dude in the ad had a haircut only a pothead would have
Didn't the Republic Amico says that their return shares will be return by 2021 or 22 with the quote and quote *physical games* will be invested.
Pretty sure Phil forgot to disable the comments hahahahahahahahahah
Popcorn and Amico, best friends 4ever!
Better than Netflix and chill. 😁
Cannabis gives me headaches. The commercial gave me a headache. 🤒
🤡
Ian's the kinda guy who wears a mask in his car
Trump lost. Get over it
1:57 for fun
I’m confused. I thought the Republik investor’s weren’t charged, they’re money wasn’t drawn. That’s what was announced if i remember correctly. The campaign being canceled. Was that another Intellivision lie, or am i completely off the rails here?
FAMILY DAMNIT! What Happened To Famillyy!!
So the investors are upset? All eight of them? Did that many even invest? If I stick my hand in a blender then turn it on and lose a finger then can you feel bad for me? No.
Derp
I can’t believe Pat and Ian finally got that loud pack sponsor. So funny. I’ve been commenting “I be smoking on that munk pack” on every munk pack sponsored video for a while now purely because my OCD won’t let me stop at this point and now they are actually puffing on some green 😂
can someone short this stock and make some money?
