    Sadly, JetBlue has lost its niche. There is no longer any differentiation between carriers. The company needs David Neeleman back at its helm.

      Exactly. Typical MBA verbiage du jour. Overused phrases such as “laser focused” “closing the gap” customer centric” etc.

      Yes, because that is what passengers want. When the unbundling of fares began a lot of airlines waited to see if this was what passengers really wanted, and guess what it is what you wanted because airlines could see passengers book away in real time.
      Now passengers have become accustomed to it, and frequent fliers demand a la carts, because they are tired of paying for services they do not use and subsidizing the infrequent leisure passenger to Florida. If I do not check a bag why should I have to pay for the service, if I do not care where I sit why should I have to pay, and if I am a frequent flier and spend more with the airline why should I have to subsidize any of these services when I get them for free by loyalty or do not use them

    Smh if she never flew Jetblue 15 years ago she not going to understand how to win as a CEO at jetblue. 15 years ago jet route to the Caribbean was the money route for jetblue, there were bigger comfortable seats , and respectable customer service with quality people. If she don't have that, her plan ain't going to work. Cutting profit route is showing that she doesn't know what she's doing already .

    • @cxa340
      @cxa340 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      While I agree she is totally unqualified for this job, it is not for your reasons. First, it is very hard to drive and yield in the Caribbean leisure markets, there is just too many seats chasing too many dollars and NY origin passengers are very price driven and will always go with the lowest fare in the market regardless of carrier. JetBlue only made money and could drive yield on their business demand markets, and those are the ones they are abandoning

      @@cxa340utter nonsense. What living1980 stated is correct. JFK ground staff many of them are indeed a sorry bunch of angry bitter savages and have seen and experienced treating passengers upon check in with rude obnoxious attitudes. Majority of them are of Caribbean descent and are lazy entitled bums. This CEO better start here then the flight attendants.

    It’s a great product when it’s ontime and works. Flew Mint to CDG and had a fantastic experience…way better than any of the legacy US products. That being said, they could easily be more strategic about operating in NY. DL does too, and they add the block time on the ground to do it more reliably. Would love to see more Midwest US routes! Or a merge with Alaska and Hawaiian!

    • @chrisgerak964

      I hate the Alaskan product. It is bare bones like what American has turned into. I wish JB and Spirit went thru. Not actually sure what the government was blocking. I do not want Alaska and Hawaiian to go thru, could care less about either airline.

    What the… “She inherited” the problems at JetBlue?! Joanna Geraghty has been at the helm for the past 10 years.
    We’ve heard all these answers and excuses many times. I hope the airline turns it around, they used to be leading edge. Now, it’s hollow words.
    I hope the airline returns to being a visionary company. Meanwhile, it suffers lackluster leadership and being too random in focus. It appears to be in an identity crisis.

    I just flew Jet Blue from London to Boston. The flight itself was fine and very good service. The boarding at Heathriw was a joke. I don't know if it was the airport or JetBlue that messed it us. 3 flights were using the same gate. I found myself standing in a line for a Frankurt flight thinking it was the Boston flight. MY Flt was sked for 825am changed twice and the monitor still Said 825am. We finally left at 945am.

    Jetblue needs to update their infotainment system to be able to use wireless headphones. The wifi is okay. Need to cut down and charging for seats if you buy a vacation package with paisly. The amount they charge for seats is very expensive. But otherwise the service was good. I flew jetblue for the first time.

    JetBlue screwed themselves by leaving Long Beach Airport, that was when they left LGB starting in 2019 and finishing in 2020. Now that has taken over by Southwest. They need a couple of solid West Coast hubs to offset the New York based locations in case of delays.

    Canceled our flight to JFK leaving from Denver at 1pm Sunday. Rescheduled us for departure 11:59pm Monday, a 35 hour delay! And they said they were not going to provide a hotel or transportation or anything, we either have to spend 35 hours here at the airport or get ripped off looking for a last minute hotel room! Did I mention I am traveling with 3 young children!!! Not even a sincere apology from the lady at the desk!! Oh and they have another flight but decided that a family with small kids doesn't get priority for that flight! JetBlue is the worst!

    I hate flying JetBlue, - I recently flew from WPB to Boston no other choice for direct flight - nightmare flight delays, packed you like a sardine, and flight attendants were so rude and abnoxius, it was evident they were based in NY, NJ etc. the place aircraft as the A320 with little carrier on space, and then ask you to check it in - that is why is called carry on so I do not have to do this for a business trip, same thing with the Embraer 175 which I prefer on the 2-3 configuration. Years ago they were distinct now they are terrible. She has NO clue on how to turn it around just using buzz words - also they got rid of most of their direct flight to the Caribbean from FTL and Miami - what a joke now you have to fly to NY to fly to Barbados for example - again - she has NO clue what she is doing.

    • @cxa340
      @cxa340 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Let’s see
      Wrong plane descriptions, wrong layouts, wrong airports (West Palm Beach is PBI, Ft Lauderdale is FLL), and wrong about Caribbean markets ever having been profitable (they aren’t). B6 dropped those markets because there is no yield, the passengers are heavily price driven and book the lowest priced carrier regardless of who it is, and B6 could not generate enough RASM in those markets to make it worthwhile. Not all routes are the same, not all passengers are the same, and leisure markets and leisure/VFR passengers can be very tough to drive RASM while CASM does not change. Florida and the Caribbean are notorious for being markets where fares are very low, passengers are price driven and will book any carrier, there is no business traffic to increase yield, VFR passengers in those markets are price sensitive, and at best an airline breaks even unless they have enough of their own dedicated frequent flier base who will not book away and will fill 1x a day flight.
