Hello, Marion! As a person with Chinese heritage, just dropping by to note that "yum cha (飲茶)" and "dim sum (點心)" are two different things, i.e. yum cha is *not* "AKA dimsum." 飲茶 literally translates to "drinking tea," and refers to meal time that features tea along with snacks classified as dim sum, which literally translates to "touching the heart." In short, yum cha is analogous to brunch (with tea as a defining element) while dimsum is analogous to the things you might have for brunch. This is also why having yum cha is associated specifically with time spent at tea houses. I hope this helps!
Hey there, I'm also of Chinese heritage and was confused with the use of "Yumcha" instead of "Dimsum" when I first moved to Australia. But it is just what it is called here - if you're going out for dimsum on the weekend, everyone just refers to it as "Yumcha" here. Not quite right but just pointing out why Marion would've called it yumcha in this video ;)
Hi Marion - Just subscribed to your channel after watching for a while and really enjoying what you are cooking. I love Thai food and have spent lots of time there, so often have hunger sickness for a great massaman! With that in mind I was so happy for you to see your products in our local Coles store and bought your massaman to give it a go. Great work! Always look forward to watching your naturalness and of course your Mum who is a delight.
Great video Marion, but the one at a time steaming would preclude having a smooth dining experience with your family. I think the steamer baskets that stack would probably make sitting down to a family dinner more realistic! You always put out premium content Marion and thank you!
Bravo!!! Really nice. I do not have a rice cooker. My father-in-law taught me how to cook rice the Thai-way many many years ago. I always cook rice the Thai way. I may have to get a rice cooker!!!
Wow what a feast… are you eating all that now, I’m coming over 😂😂 I love yum cha This rice cooker can do the works, impressive ❤❤ it’s 1:30am and I’m now starving 😅
🤔to the ribs... Chinese here - and you're right - the restaurant ribs ARE chewy - and I've never thought about it until you just said it! I don't cook, but hey, I'll still eat the ribs either way!
Easy Yum Cha at home? I just buy from the freezer section of the supermarket and put in the steamer. Those former MasterChef contestants really know how to make good dumplings 😉😉
Marion what about the chicken feet yumcha. I always have about 3 serve when I go to yumcha so please Marion chicken feet please. And the coconut jelly. It's a must. Marion. I always eat 2 there and take 3 serve for the working week and to share with my friends ofcourse. Thanks Marion. One question for you. Forgive me if am wrong. Please do not get upset I do not want to upset anyone. But just wondering is that number three coming up. Or am wrong. Please tell me because I want to say good on you darling. Love you Marion and all your work. Fantastic girl and clever too. Maybe too clever for me. Am the dam one. And love your mom too She very Fanny. Have a wonderful day and take good care. Love from Mauritius. Where I just moved but am Aussie. Still.
Hiya Marion. 2 things. 1 Thank you for the recipe of your all time favourite meal. I found some seeds for the veg. Is there a real difference in taste and texture between bok choi and tat choi? Yes, I have to plant the seeds and wait for it to ripen before I can actually prepare the recipe - but no problem there. 2nd and a rather nasty thing: I cannot find your book for sale in South Africa! Do you know of any online sellers here I might have a bit of luck?
When we say yum cha in Hong Kong it means going to have dim sum for us... Yum cha is connected to dim sum because tea is always served with dim sum to break down the fat from the food.
Everything looks great. The pork ribs looked kinda gray when you looked at them after 50 minutes, how would you get a good coloring on them. Color of food is very important to me.
I love this new testing products out series 🎉

Yum cha means "drink tea" not the same as Dim Sum which is more a brunch.
When we say yum cha in Hong Kong it means going to have dim sum for us... Yum cha is connected to dim sum because tea is always served with dim sum to break down the fat from the food.
Omg
Please add the Persian translation to the settings🥲
