They need to see how many school groups our community gardens host. It is such an important link to community, educating on where and how food is grown. Even more so now prices are high and things are in short supply. Just like the principal and school council. They need a ladder to get down of their high horses and get over to Spec Savers for their short sightedness.

What a great set up and worthwhile community garden. Shame on the powers that be for trying to shut it down. Sign the petition!

Such a lovely community garden at the school and love the ladies who are passionate about sharing their horticulture knowledge with the kids as they work and learn whilst tending the garden. Best place to be educated in nature. Would be a great shame if they bulldoze it for portables. Hope we can all lend a hand in stopping it by signing the petition. Great job Vasili.

Vasili, If the education department doesn't over rule the Ashwood High School principal, you and Craig should try and get some cuttings from every viable tree so the hard work from all the volunteers is not totally lost through the short term stupidity of the Government Department decision makers.

They paved paradise to put up a parking lot. You don't know what you have until it's gone. They paved paradise to put up a parking lot. 😥 I'd sign it but I'm in America. 🙏 I'll pray for a miracle 🙏

This community garden is incredible, it is absolutely disgraceful for the principal of the school. The principal has always wanted to destroy this place for the idea of "school image" although doesn't even come to his own school and has the police arresting students. please save this place.

Great work Vasili. These type of places are sadly disappearing. I live very close to a community garden & see first hand just how it brings all kinds of people together. This community garden must stay. partition the local council, education department, partition the Local member of government.

So very sad. Its all part of the agenda. Getting us out of nature. They want to control our food. We can't let this happen here. It's time to stand up. Get the awareness out there ASAP!!

Love community gardens, not sure if the Balwyn one has started up again.

It sounds like they need a new principal. Obviously he has no idea of all the benefits of teaching and allowing students to experience all the benefits of growing and improving the earth. Not to mention community and team work. We should be encouraging more of this not less!

Very disappointing....if it goes ahead.. How can an educational institution rule on such a short sighted vision? There is always room for compromise, and negotiations (including safety). So its a win-win for the community and school as a whole. Keep up the good work!!

😂😂 I live nearby and I know for a fact that this garden has barely been looked after since this week or so because of the announcement, I walk my dog there frequently and it’s rat and other rodent infested.
It is unsafe and that’s probable reason children haven’t been allowed in the garden… it’s been overgrown and unattended.

Put up more buildings and take away land. All about loading up with more students and getting more school fees. Absolutely disheartening. Such a pity we are watching the last of a place of solace and harmony. Sad.
