Trust me they look way better in person. The whole FT line looks really good together with the marble looking tips. The Blossom has a light glitter shin me to it and changes color in the cold. And the Good Company has kind of a simple skate inspired top with the photo in the middle to go along with its park vibe ride.
This is awesome. I have an orca for pow, burton custom for all mtn, twin pig for park. Looking to replace the last two wirh 1) lib tech TRS (all mtn freestyle) and 2) ???... maybe bataleon disaster or never summer proto slinger. What do you think?
TRS is on point, it’s basically Lib Techs version of the Custom. For a park board as much as I back the NS Protoslinger 110% you would probably be better off on an even MORE park focused board like the Disaster, Burton Good Company, Nidecker Sensor etc. Never Summers boards with the combo of their bends, unique sidecut and layup make even their softest board (the Protoslingers) ride incredibly well outside the park as well as in the park.
Talent scout and Feelgood sound great but I’d stay away from the storyboard. It’s a little too close to the Feelgood. I’d maybe look at something in the Family Tree lineup that’s a little closer to the powder side of things.
Great breakdown! And I dig the new top sheet of the Hometown Hero. I personally have a 2-board quiver at the moment, with a board I like for small hills in the midwest, and more a free ride-leaning all mountain board for our west. I would love a pow board but it would get so little use, and a dedicated park board would be fun but i'm an old man who should guard his bones 😂
Hey. I'm stuck between the capita DOA and the capita murcury. My main style is going fast Down groomers at sun peaks with the odd side hit. Iv never learned how to do butters but they look really fun and wanted you start learning them next year. What board would you recommend. Currently using union force bindings. Thank you
I would go with the Mercury. Still all mountain but better suited for your specific riding style. Also if you want to learn butters check out this video -> th-cam.com/video/QgkYiGOe15o/w-d-xo.html
My current quiver is a Jones Freecarver 6000 158, Burton 3D Fish 161 and a Burton HTH 160. The only thing I'm disappointed in is the edge hold in firm/ice with the Hometown Hero. I really like the board in softer/powder snow .Would a Burton Custom 158 have better edge hold? How about a Capita Mega Death 159? Thanks.
If you are looking for something for specific hold on ice you might want to check out some Lib Techs of Gnu’s with magne-traction or any of the Never Summers. Those are going to have the most mount of grip on ice. Have you seen this video NS put out with Nick Larsen cranking a turn on a frozen lake? Their triple camber and various grip sidecut combo is the truth! th-cam.com/video/kS9oRkkn0us/w-d-xo.htmlsi=pdYHWV3-AQV52z2S
I rock a two board qiver, Salomon Craft for park and all mountain riding, and a Sims Solo for pow. Solo works great for powder and as a carving board while the Craft is surprisingly capable for a true twin.
Hey Matt, thanks for sharing. Where does the Burton Process (pure pop camber) fall in all that, namely as a one board quiver approach? It's a twin tip symmetrical yet all mountain board, as you probably know.
The Process is definitely on the Park/All Mountain side. Mainly for those riders who want to be able to ride all mountain but are most likely spending the majority of their time in the park.
What do you think about this quiver i want to build up? What would you remove/replace. Im using Union Force bindings, do you think I can use that for all these boards? All Mountain: Capita Mercury Powder: Rome Ravine Freestyle/Park: GNU Headspace Carving: RIDE Peaceseeker/Korua Cafe Racer Plus
When it comes to bindings the Force is for sure one of the most versatile. You can really throw them on any board. You’ve got a pretty good start with your line up with the Headspace and the Cafe Racer. For the other 3 you have listed they are all a little closer to each other than you think. Even with the directional shapes of the Ravine and Peace Seeker they are still very versatile boards closer to the all mountain/freeride style of the Mercury. You would be better off with something like a Capita DOA for an All mountain specific board and something more pow focused like a Burton 3D Fish, Capita SB Powder Racer or Jones Storm Chaser. Hopefully that helps 👍
How do you feel about this quiver Freecarver Flagship Mercury Orca If you swap any of these out for different board what boards would you choose for the PNW. From an objective standpoint point of view
In all honesty the last 3 are too close and the Freecarver is kind of an “additional board” being so carving focused. In keeping with the message of this video I’d pick one of the of those 3, choose a more well rounded all Mtn board and then a park specific and/or pow specific board. (Depending on your riding wants/needs) Something along the lines of: Freecarver Flagship DOA Good Company (park) and/or Storm Chaser (pow) Hope that helps 👍
@@PeterGlennSports thanks! I currently own the flagship, coming from a dancehaul that was too soft due to incorrect sizing. I’m more Posi posi groomer/side country focused. Buying new snowboards is an addiction. I feel if i buy another deck I will neglect my other boards. When i get hyped up for the next season is usually when i cave. Dude you have epic gear bro!! Oh that's another addiction I have too!
Just started my quiver this season and wanted to see what you thought about it. Park: burton blossom All mtn: rome stale crewzer Powder: bataleon camel 2
Looks good! With what you have there’s a minimal overlap with the Blossom and Stale Crewzer but you for sure have park to pow full covered in these 3 boards!
@@PeterGlennSports thanks i appreciate the response. I also thought there would be a little overlap with those two but after i rode the blossom for the first time it was hard to say no so i had to buy it 😂 also had a really great deal on the stale crewzer and its brand new, waiting til next season to try it out.
@@PeterGlennSports interesting, i know the flex rating varies from company to company but would an all mountain board with the same flex rating as a park board made by the same company be the same exact flex? or would the all mountain board be stiffer?
@@cadenmam3853 All in all within a company the flexes should be pretty standard across the line. I.e. a flex 5 would be the same no matter what style of board it is.
Want something to complement my dancehaul, something stiffer and more aggressive for a higher intermediate, don't mind if twin or more directional, any suggestions? Aggressive but not too unforgiving since I'm not an expert yet.
Thats a hard one to be honest. The Dancehaul is a pretty versatile board. If anything you might check out a board like the Capita Black Snowboard Of Death for those days when you just want to go fast and carve hard. Cool stuff. I sold all my boards this year due to excessive traveling and I'm building my new quiver from scratch. It's hard to make a first decision because I ride in all conditions. My hometown mountain is very small and dry but i chase powder whenever I can. This year I got a taste of japow and that makes me want to get something powder specific first - e.g. Ride Deepfake. For everyday riding I still prefer mid stiff directional twin so I'm considering Capita Mercury, maybe nitro t1...
If you want something that can ride the power well the Deep Fake and Mercury are great all mountain/freeride options. I’d stay away from the T1 though, definitely more of a park board.

what’s the difference between an agressive park board and a true twin all mountain board with dull edges?
