I'm very interested in more sound clips of the L00, do you happen to have Skype or hangouts? I'm looking to invest in one for my next Guitar but don't have the opportunity to play an L00 due to the pandemic... would like to discuss my style n maybe hear a few examples if you can play for me, thank you very much -zeb
Great video Ian.....I have an Epiphone EL-00 that I bought very cheaply off Craigslist to use to teach myself how to do some basic repairs/upgrades on my own....new Tusq nut, new Tusq saddle, removed the pickguard, new pins. It sounds great but one day I'm going to replace it with a real Gibson L-00!!
@@cm6534 so I took it to a jam for the first time.. at the end 3 folks approached to talk about the sound.. and "WHAT IS THAT". I have had it over a year now.. and its actually getting a warmer sound.. still in love with it.
PLEASE review the new gibson LG2 50s thanks!! its on my radar, can never find a comparison between this and the L00, found one comparing the Lg2 50s and the j45 50s but not the L00 ( i preffered the tone of the lg2 but im curious to hear it against the L00. if anyone has any input its much appreciated!! thanks
Great video Ian! I couldn't help wondering about a comparison between the Gibson L-00 and the Martin CEO-7, that it was designed after. The CEO-7 is a wicked finger picking guitar just like this L-00 is. Thanks for doing this video!
Hi Ian, I have a Martin OO-18 and would like to know what brand and gauge strings do you recommend for that guitar. It really is a great guitar! Thank You and keep playing so well, very enjoyable.
If you have a chance to directly compare this to an lg2 or the 00-18 or even the 00015sm I would appreciate it. I currently own a guild m20. Going off this clip it sounds like it would complement it very well. I've played a few vintage examples of the lg2 but I'm curious what your thoughts are on the new version for 2020. I love the old-school sound Cheers!!
Just acquired a ( used ) 2020 Gibson 50's LG2 and like it a lot. Completely different sound from the Martin 00-18V and/or the Martin 000-15SM ( our lead guitarist plays one) . All sound nice, just different. I also have a Guild M-20 sweet guitar isn't it ! ?
Hello Ian: As far as playability and sound, which one is better, Gibson L-00 or Martin 000-18? I watched your reviews of both of these guitars. I just want your opinion. Thank you very much!
Sounds great but play before you buy. I bought one online from what I thought was a reputable dealer, and it sounded & sounds like junk. First this "new from the Gibson factory " L-00 sonburst" came with corroded stings. I called, & eventually they sent new strings. But it has no bass, dull treble, buzzes, but looks good. Try before you buy, or buyer beware. Even bought an insurance policy against damage, but was told by a customer service representative that the policy does not cover bad sounding instruments because sound is subjective. They aren't my friends from now on.
@@Ledzepfan88 so true. I've since discovered that one reason for the issue was the neck was way back and the top had some "dry" issues that re-humidifying could not fix. It was sent this way. There are some dealers I would buy from online and have...Alamo, Bluetooth, Eddie's, Empire Music & Music Villa in alphabetical order.
Quite a unique sound, very pleasant "woody" midrange resonance, without getting muddy. Super cool looks too!
beautiful sound and great playing! Just bought a Gibson L-00, can't wait to play it
Best guitar demo I’ve ever seen! Covers all kinds of playing. All demos need to follow what this guy does.
Is it just me or do single notes sound amazing on this little guitar???
I am going to get one of these.Lovely sound.
This is the best realistic sound of a L00 I have heard on TH-cam, it sounds like mine does to me.

Great picking. Beautiful Gibson
Well made 00 size guitars really project.
This guitar looks and sounds fantastic, very impressed 😍🎸👌
I have a earlier version and I love it.

Picked one up March of last year. My favorite guitar

If one had to choose between this and a martin 000-28 for fingerstyle, which would it be??

Hi Eric, its been a while but I remember really liking the CEO-7. If I get one through the shop I'll do a video of it.
I tried one. Loved the sound , couldn’t get on with the modified V neck. CEO-7 that is.
What’s the song in the fingerpicking section from 3:19, it’s lovely.
Great video. Is this a slim neck? Easy to play? Good action?
Is it just me or are these really hard to find in stores?
I think it is common for all brand of smaller body sizes like OO and OOO. The smaller the body, the harder to find.

Great playing! Such a beautiful guitar! I would love to see this compared to the Eastman e10ooss/v!
I don’t need to see it. The Gibson will destroy the Eastman , no question

Paul, personally I prefer the sound and vibe of the 000-18. I think it is a much more versatile guitar as well.
Ian Meadows Thank you for responding!
sound similar to the Martin OO28
This instrument is designed for finger picking. Beautiful guitar
Sounds pretty great with a flat pick, or with light/medium strumming too.
Ian, do you prefer the Gibson L-OO or Martin OO-18.
Hi Rob, I'm more of a 00 18 guy
Like it better than a J-45.

Lol judging from the comment they aren't my friends anymore it's "musicians friend"
