this is the first of the new rts games ive actually really liked just looking at it
my issue when playing starcraft is that the rounds can be abit long with very mixed tempo so i only really like watching it, this seems like something i will actually enjoy playing competitively
Blodir is arguably the best supreme commander player in the world. It was interesting to see him in this video considering this game is literally the polar opposite of supcom.
Every game should be Starcraft. Like StarDew Valley would be so much better if you had to protect your farm from the zerglings every night.
The 1 hp expansion made me laugh so hard XD

I'm still kind of hoping for either do more upgrades or like do something different kind of upgrades. Even if you have to tier up to unlock them. Maybe even like choosing between different upgrades for each unit kind of a deal.
I never really was a huge fan of MOBAs, and to me this just feels like if you took a moba and made it so you control the ai that keeps sending guys out onto lanes instead of a hero. Just like stormgate won’t be for everyone, I don think this game will be for me.
God, defending against Wasp all-in feels so nice when you manage to do it after expanding.
"get to starcraft's level" ... seriously with a thought like this you are dooming any rts out there ...
just play the rts for what it is and enjoy it .. or don't i suppose ...
personally i enjoy Open Red Alert or Total Annihilation-like games more than starcraft
starcraft 2 specifically to me is lacking something i can't put my finger on ... i think it has something to do with the "weight" of combat or feel of it ..
i can understand not liking to invest too much time in the individual match (total annihilation and supreme commander matches can take up to 40 min to an hour+)
especialy when work and RL obligations are a factor

Not more-tars for Mortars, pronounced more like more-tur, more-turs plural. Completely logical to pronounce it that way, English is pretty sus :) great playing in the big tourney the other day! Pro level is almost completely unforgivable! It’s incredible how vital the timings and minute variations of a single unit can be a tell. Hats off Marc, and great attitude. The best attitude for your own sanity! Cheers

It's a bit different but a big part of it is just expectations. If blizzard announced they were making SC3 but no base building then people would hate it too.
C&C4 was awful but the reason people hate it is because it's a franchise killer, otherwise they would just not play it and not care that it ever existed.
except it isn't like twilight since the unlockable units are not fixed to a faction and/or mainbase pick of offence/defence/support
battle aces is about pure action and basedestruction instead of dominationstyle with tickets/VPs like company of heroes
baseexpansion and harvesterharrasment even though simplified is still a thing ...
and yes people like the idea of having a "deck" of units they can customise to their liking
also games like tooth and tail exist and people liked that
shocking how not every RTS in the world has to be classic basebuilding
if that is not to your liking then tempest: rising and D.O.R.F. might be for you instead

people hate twilight because not only it deviated heavily from what traditional RTS players are used to ...
in typical EA fashion the game was riddled with crap be it the always online otherwise no xp, the need to unlock units and abilities for a paid game
the fact that unlocked units a still fixed to specific factions/crawlers instead of allowing the player a flexible unitpool
no other win condition besides having to gather 2500 VP
here is the thing though ... the core concept could have worked if twilight was rather a standalone game or spin off than a tiberian series sequel
and didn't have EA's typical BS of screwing it's players over

The amount of open space, lack of chokepoints and no height difference make the fights a lot less interesting to watch compared to sc2 imo.
that’s funny, i was reading your comment and you listing off no chokes and height differences was making me think “yeah it’s nice!” lol - sc2 always felt too chokey to me but it’s part of the design, i like the more open engagements of battle aces. that being said i bet the maps will have a ton of variance
Why even compare the games? If you’ve played battle aces it’s nothing alike sc. nothing is close nothing is comparable.
maybe something they are planning to add later on
remember this is a closed beta with only one map so chances are they add more later on with chokes and height difference if they have it coded

its a lot more fun to play than sc2 however
2:45 Beyond all Reason is 10 times better than Starcraft, yet most ppl dont play it sadly. its even Completley free and no DLCs no store its just free.
claims to offer a ton of variety with various factories but in practice out of the 12 basic and advanced types you literally build only one or 2 at most
take proTA, take SupCom, take Planetary Annihilation each of them lets you actually use the amount of factorytypes given and multiple of those ..
i played BAR and i can not enjoy it .. i don't know what it is but they changed something in the economy/production aspect that is way too limiting compared to the other afforementioned games/mods ..
something beeing free doesn't make it automatically good ..
also starcraft 2 multiplayer is free, wings of liberty is free, arcade is free
the DLC is primarily singleplayer campaign content
It's not accessible enough compared to SC2
@@slimpwarrior yea man i mean getting it for free iff you google B.A.R. isnt accessible enough, they sould pay ppl to play the game, its a lot easier to buy SC2 and all 3 of its DLCs to play instead.
@@MrTBSC well SC doesnt have an ounce of real warfare feeling to it, its a gimmicky rock paper scissors game where you could replace everything with triangles and hexagons and rectangles and most ppl wouldnt even notice...
