Jesus, the beat and the drums and the bass. The Fall were so far ahead of their time, most people don't even know they ever existed... but they left their inexorable gash across all music, forever.
Serious band one of my top fives the fall and I can't name the other four...but the fall definite...I remember them for music videos yrs ago but I grew up in 80s 90s haha listening to goa techno trance...only in the last 10yrs or so listening on youtube tank fk.for youtube...ya top five
@@leighbennett1961 I don't remember making this comment and I don't know why I said it was Brix. I must have had a reason though. Mayb e I read it somewhere. It does sound like her style to me but I may be wrong.
Very difficult to say but this is probably my favourite Fall Peel session of them all... it might change tomorrow but all four of these tracks are pure genius.
Gotta agree with MartinT82, this session is outrageously fabulous. Would have loved to see these dudes live. Often I feel cheated being born at the bottom of the world.
Purely incredible and currently my favorite peel session of all time. The version of US 80’s 90’s is imo the best version of that song ever recorded. Was mark a psychic or a well read man? 1890’s US 80’s 90’s 2020’s back to the 50’s.. it remains the same. True genius imo.
You might like their song 'No Bulbs', i just uploaded a video that i created to that song, its my recent upload om here if you and anyone else wants to see it. Justin
They did sessions for Janice Long and David Jensen, they're available on the omnibus edition of the wonderful and frightening world of the fall. I'm not sure if they did any others although I've got a niggling suspicion that they did.
The Falls song No Bulbs, well i created a video to go with the song, if anyone wants to see it ? Its in my recent uploads, alternatively simply just type in The Fall No Bulbs and look for my username.
mark e smiths was a brilliant song and sound inventor of the late 70s til late 80s. all very clever and surprising, lots of stuff noone else would do or have done before, but..geez his voicings and lack of melody singing is unbearable at some point. on the other hand maybe its all just working out like that.

shamelessly Mancunian, purposefully lo-fi, abstract lyrics
love them
The Fall ❤
R.O:D. and Gross Chapel are masterpieces.
Lots of worthy praise here for MES and gang; but I'm also feeling grateful for John Peel right now.
Best fall Peel session of all time. The Fall at their zenith.
Remember taping this off the radio in June or July ‘86 as a 16 year old and that was my playlist sorted for the summer.
@@SteveGad I kinda wished they'd left Peelie's intros & outros on this box set.
Me too...exactly this.I turned 17 in Oct 86 and oh did I love The Fall and Mr.Peel.
As close to perfection as any mortal can reach.
My smoke alarm goes off when I listen to The Fall.
I don't smoke.
Uno dei gruppi piu sottovalutato di un periodo fantastico loro incredibili in tutto ciò che hanno fatto Grandi
I love R.O.D. Delicious guitar from Brix on this one.
Brilliant track 👍
How can you be sure it's Brix and not Craig?

One of my favourite Peel Sessions by The Fall...This Nations Saving Grace. MES,RIP
Loved this Bend Sinister is my favourite Fall album

True, the band in their pomp
this is a really good session. agreed.
never noticed the other guitar line in this from 0:13 onwards. too good
Totally agree Martin .. thanks for sharing
i can see marks face all a light blue colour which i would guess is to do wth his star sign planet neptune, or nep tune

the best of the best
Wow.... I was missing out. This bands discography is challenged by few.

Supremely good in session.Nothing else comes near
US 80s 90s. Off the fucking chain.
Jesus H Christ ...this goes off the scale....
If you aren't stunned you aren't listening!
It took me 2 years to write this comment.
My Scottish drinking buddy sent me here. After we fought like drunken bastards
The Fall at the height of their powers.
The fall in prime form. Pure poetry.
There's no other way, except The Fall.
MES seemed to bring his best to these sessions...plus they kept him outta the control booth %^)....def the best "U.S. 80s 90s"
fucking genius!!
cool as fuck
This version of Gross Chapel-GB Grenadiers is superior to the one on the album.
The Album is not great.
@@lextalonis839 The production of Bend Sinister was disappointing. Too many cooks.
I read somewhere that the album wasn’t produced from the original master tapes but from copies made by MES
@@geoffw1209 That's correct. It's why the album sounds so muddy.
@@johncoyle2316and that is what MES wanted. I think the muddy sound works for the material as on Dragnet.
Does anyone know if the Fall recorded any sessions other than for John Peel??
They did sessions for Janice Long and David Jensen, they're available on the omnibus edition of the wonderful and frightening world of the fall. I'm not sure if they did any others although I've got a niggling suspicion that they did.
...was there not a Mark Radcliffe session?
And even if there wasn't, why do I think there was?
Yeah...
The more you think about it...
Yes they did.Janis Long and someone else.Cant remember.

I think that’s the appeal, the fall don’t sound like anyone else, I love them for that.
