@@scbtripwire per initial he said lol, I don't know if he meant to say per item, or if it's £500 for every initial you have, or £500 per initial per item
This scam was reported in the press in 2010. Either it's a repeat of an earlier scam or James read about it and turned it into 'a memory'. Doesn't matter really, if he makes up his scrapes, they're always entertaining.
One of my favorite Classic Scrapes. So much comedy gold here...
That licking the plate panic was golden
“Was it the licker?” lmfao
Hahahahaha at 'licked' I lost it.
James Acaster the scrape master.
Free porcelain: £500
Per engraved item, no less!

Right, but didn't he say he was 18 or 19 at the time of this scrape? So that would have put it at pre-2005, so fairly reasonable for the timeline.
So because it was reported in 2010, it means it could never have happened 5 years prior with no reports ?
What is wrong with widdecombe, he laughs at nothing, very droll.
If I was sitting across from James Acaster I'd probably be laughing a lot also :D
I'm pretty sure this scrape must be made up.
David it was a real scam in the UK apparently!
Yeah, I'm sure all of James's scrapes or at least practically all of them are true.
It's probably like a lot of 'true' stories, the basic story happened but some parts are exaggerated for comedy.
Sounds Like BS
