Welcome along to our video where we visit Genting for the first time since arriving in Malaysia!
As a disclaimer before we get into anything, we realised our camera had it's stabilisation feature turned off after we had recorded everything and have had to try and stabilise the footage for you manually. Due to this, there may be patches of the video which look distorted. We sincerely apologise if this effects your viewing experience. We will be back to normal, steady footage next week! 😅
Genting is known in Malaysia for it's cooler climate, gambling culture, and theme parks and well... it did not disappoint! Commonly referred to as the Vegas of Malaysia, from the moment we hopped out of our taxi, we could completely see why!
Join us today as we explore Genting and ultimately get lost multiple times in the process and also experience 'snow' for the first time in Malaysia!
We're signing out for Christmas, but we both wish you a very merry Christmas and hope you enjoy the festive season however you feel like celebrating. We're heading home to England for the first time since leaving in April so will be spending time with our friends and families over this course and having a good old catch up.
We are looking forward to starting our adventures again in the new year, we have big things planned!

Genting Highlands Resorts is one of the favourite local spots for a weekend getaway or to chill. But nowadays, it's getting more and more expensive, and foreign tourist are pilling up too, hence the increase in prices for the hotel rooms and meals. I've seen people bringing their own packed food and putting up at Airbnbs near the midhills.😅

I remember when you guys first started your channel, and bit by bit, you guys reached where you are today, stronger with subscribers and viewers. Good to see that progress. Wonderful. Just to share a bit with you, I've seen UTubers who've been around for many years, but haven't even reach 1k subscribers. So, I guess, what I'm trying to say that 5k is just a new number, and as far as I'm concerned, you guys already received the miracle. Of course, 5k would be a new Christmas miracle. Exactly, I think we're so blessed to have created such a large community in such a small amount of time, when we set our 5k goal it was ambitious, but we didn't expect to reach 1k within the first year, let alone where we are now!

@@DisappearforDays By the way, have you seen the Christmas tree at Suria KLCC, night time. You guys were there during day time. I thought the tree looked dull in few videos with the shortbread cookies decors, but I saw the tree in a video during night time. It doesn't have the traditional colorful ornaments, but when it's illuminated at night, the gingerbread cookies looked so beautiful. Beautiful Christmas trees in KL, in Genting too. 😀
We didn't manage to see it at night time unfortunately as we were so busy with the Genting video. It was such a shame really, but I've seen photos online and it looks incredible! 😭
I guess the photos will have to suffice until next year! ☺️
@@DisappearforDays Yes, I was surprised to see it looked beautiful at night, compared during daytime, when the gingerbread looked quite dull, but not at night, the gingerbread cookies looked quite amazing actually. 😀
You guys almost walk the whole place but you missed 2 spots that I remember. Below maxim hotel there are bunch of restaurants and right outside maxim hotel lobby, just cross 2 road after the parking lots, you will see a small dessert stall where you can eat durian ice cream. And many more secret spots to discover
I think we walked around it all about 5 times as we got lost so much 😂 we definitely didn't spot that dessert stall though! We'll have to come back to this comment when we next visit and see if we can find it!

You both should take the cable car down and up again, just for the experience. There’s also a little duty free mall at the bottom

Malaysia is a tropical country, raining most of the week.
So they builds indoor theme parks.
It's smart when it rains that much 😂 we were glad to be back down in the warm heat after we left 😅

We wish we had gone in, but the rain put us off to be honest 😅 we will have to go back and try the theme park next time! ☺️❄️

It really did feel real with the climate as well, and everyone was so excited, it really felt like Christmas! Everyone was just in pure happiness which was so nice to see! We hope you can go there soon as well! It was such a fun experience ☺️❤️❄️☃️🎄
Having an outdoor theme park can be a disadvantage due to the climate. Example legoland, sunway lagoon. So indoor park in genting or berjaya times square is a favourite although limited space
Yeah, we can see why, it rains far too heavily in Malaysia sometimes to be able to enjoy it outdoors! Such a smart idea! ❤️😁

Unfortunately it never snows in Malaysia (since the climate is just summer the whole entire year) Santa Claus never came during Christmas and its just for one reason. His sledge wont move hardly move without snow. Sorry guys.😅
Just fyi since Genting is 1.8km tall (or just over a mile high) more often than not the mist you saw are not fog but just clouds. 😊

That's such a cool fact, we didn't quite realize how high Genting was, but it makes sense that they were clouds as it'd clear 1 second and come straight back the next!

With all honesty, I have despised the current Genting Highlands ever since they revamped the old Indoor park. Now, it is just a place that sells exorbitant food and tickets that will cause a huge dent in your purse if you want a "decent" experience. The shopping malls are boring, the casino are boring, the indoor theme park is boring, the outdoor theme park is off limits for commoners like me who don't want to play any of those rides. There is no bench for the visitors who wanted a quick rest too. I really hated the commercialized version of Genting Highland. Thinking about the old Genting Highlands which I visited when I was a kid really made me nostalgic. Bring the old Genting back!
I can definitely agree with parts of you there, we struggled so hard to find a meal for a decent price, it is very much commercialized for the more lavish life style whilst leaving behind any chance for people looking for a quick cheap little weekend getaway from the busy KL life!
It is a bit of a shame really as it does out us off going more knowing there aren't as many options for people on more of a budget. Saying that though, we did enjoy ourselves exploring and especially trying to compare to what it had been when I'd visited all those years ago!
