- Add these WOW! very simple, no notions knit dresses to your Summer Collection. All of these are beginner friendly.
Dresses in order of appearance:
New Look N6210 - knit tank dress in knee or long length with slit. Straight dress has scoop neckline and racer back. A-line dress has V-neck line.
New Look N6478 - Child's dress, halter dress, sundress and head scarf.
Butterick B5313 - Close fitting thru bustline dresses with flounce variations.
New Look N6650 - Dresses in two lengths, easy to sew and design for stretch knits. slim pull-on dress with optional waist-tie feature. Short sleeves in two length options.

Just bought 6650 (yesterday 😊) but haven’t gone through my fabric stash yet to pick the right one to make it with. Love that gray polka dot dress. I also do the cutting and marking of the patterns one day, and do the sewing the next day. It is just easier and makes more sense. Hope you get your sewing machine back soon!

Hi Grace! Cute dresses. 🥰 The gray polka dot is my favorite! Very pretty, very feminine. The NL 6650 "Magic Dress" ties, IMO, look better tied in the front than in the back. They give the dress front some nice detail. FYI: My CA house is in escrow! If all goes well, I will be in FL in 6 weeks looking at new houses. Whoo hoo! 🍾🎉🥳 Can't wait to get past this and get moved! Oh don't be worried Diann, you can place the ties as high or low as you want. That's the beauty of this pattern. Customize it to your figure. You should try it. Definitely a winner. ❤
What do you do to keep in shape Grace? You have a fabulous figure.
Here's what I do and it works for me. I only eat 2 meals a day between 11AM - 7PM an 8 hour window. I will either eat breakfast or lunch but not both and then I eat dinner. I’ll have a protein shake if I get hungry and fruit. I only drink water and seltzer water. And of course, I drink black coffee every morning. This is my lifestyle. It’s not a diet. I don’t lose weight but maintain. I may eat 1 meal a day if we go out to dinner or lunch. I also weigh myself every morning when I get up to keep me on track.

Hi Sewing Sister, You definitely need to make N6210. You can make it in a day even though you sew slowly! 🥰 I get my machines serviced every few years especially if they are not running smooth. Keep them clean and keep them covered. N6650 is great with the tie front. You can place the ties as high or low as you want to cover the trouble spots. I love you my dear! I cut a 16 all the way down to the waist and then graded it to a size 14 all the way down. It fit perfect! ENJOY!!

I enjoyed your review. I made the first dress as well but my side slit doesn’t lay flat. I don’t own a serger. Any tips on how to make it lay flat and not “curl”. Thanks
Yes, I don't recall if I mentioned that I used Stitch Witchery to finish the hem. My fabric is a jersey/ITY knit. I usually finish the hems of light knit fabrics that curl with Stitch Witchery. I turned the slid slits in once and topstitched. I did not do a narrow hem because that tends to curl on those type of knits. You could also add some Stitch Witchery to the side slits and then topstitch. I hope this helps!
